Thanks for looking at Railroad Creek Lodging's H4 House while planning your trip to Glacier.
Our two story house features three bedrooms upstairs. One has a queen bed and a single, while the Master Bedroom has a queen bed. Adjacent to the Master Bedroom is a small bedroom with another queen bed. Our fourth bedroom is downstairs and has a queen bed. All of the bedrooms have great views that provide a peaceful end to your day and brighten the start of the next one. Upstairs you will find a full bath with laundry facilities while the downstairs has a bathroom with shower and sauna.
Sit in the cedar and brick living room with your morning coffee and view Lubeck Ridge, Calf Robe Mountain, Firebrand Pass and the occasional deer, moose, coyotes, elk and bear that make the area their home. Expansive south and west facing windows give incredible views that make our part of the state such a special place. A fully equipped kitchen lets you plan meals at home or dine out at one of the local restaurants. Everything down to the salt and pepper shakers is here for you, but if you have a special request, let us know and we'll work on it.
The deck on the west and north sides of the house offers great views and deck chairs are there for your comfort. A gas barbecue and picnic table are also located on the deck for your cooking and outdoor dining use.
Hiking is available as close as the back door, with many other opportunities in the area. Two Medicine Lake area provides numerous hiking trails and a tour boat operates on the lake also. Firebrand Pass is just up the road and is a great hike.
We are located three miles west of East Glacier on Highway 2. Close enough to town, but removed enough to let you see sunsets, stars, northern lights and nature at its best just outside the door. Fluctuating temperatures, windy weather and long daylight hours are part of summer here in East Glacier, so be prepared for whatever Mother Nature has to offer during your stay.
COME AND ENJOY OUR PART OF THE BIG SKY COUNTRY!!!

Railroad Creek Lodging
Hi, we're Chuck & Vicki Holbrook. We lived in East Glacier for 21 years before moving to Whitefish Montana in 1999. We have both retired from our jobs and moved back to our home in East Glacier. We live in it in the winter and offer it to visitors to Glacier in the summer. We are eager to be part of your plans to visit Glacier Park. We are pleased to offer our guests a quiet well equipped house outside of town to relax in at the end of a day exploring Glacier Country. Let us know if Railroad Creek Lodging fits your plans for your trip to our part of Glacier Country.
Chuck & Vicki Holbrook purchased this house in 1983
We like living in the country and being able to enjoy life without the distractions of town. Our house is very close to nature and lets you experience it at whatever level you wish.
We designed the house to be energy efficient in both winter and summer and to also have great views out all of our windows. We experience all the many weather types and wildlife that make this such a unique place to live. Our view is essentially unchanged over the last 30 years and we love being out here in such a natural setting.
My husband, our four adult kids, and my brother had a wonderful time in Glacier National Park--hiking and white water rafting. One of our favorite hikes was to Iceberg Lake. The house was perfect for us; plenty of room for all of us. Kitchen had everything we needed, and we cooked meals every night; packed lunches for hiking. The fire pit was a fun time after a day of hiking. The owners were wonderful, and we appreciated the homemade brownies and the beer. The house is near restaurants and a little grocery store/deli. I'd definitely recommend this house.
This was a wonderful home to stay in. It was immaculate and very comfortable. There were 4 adults and one teenager and we had a lot of privacy. Chuck and Viki are very friendly and made sure we had all we needed. The personal touch of providing homemade brownies was wonderful.
We stayed at his wonderful house for 3 night this summer. There were 2 families with 4 children. It was the best choice we made for our trip! As first timers to the area we had no idea what to expect. We knew we wanted our own piece of paradise away from the hustle and bustle of tourists and we got it! As we pull into the driveway, the kids noticed a horse right there next to our yard. Very exciting for them. The house was very clean, a great size and the view was phenomenal! Chuck and Vicki came to great us shortly after our arrival and they were very friendly and accommodating. It was great to have such a nice house and area for the kids to play at the end of the day. We even took a hike on one of the trails behind the house. Our stay was fantastic and I highly recommend this house for anyone looking to stay "away from it all" and not in the heart of tourist country! :)
Our family of six (kids 11, 9, 7 and 3) had the best time of our life at this wonderful house.
We enjoyed the inside as well as the outside of this charming vacation home. Everything is nice and neat, so cosy and organized. The kitchen is perfectly equipped as the owners live here themselves in winter. Chuck and Vicki were more than welcoming. Each of us got a homemade brownie, there were drinks waiting in the fridge, a welcoming message on a white board. We had coffee, filters, sugar, oil, vinegar, all kind of spices and herbes etc.
Our stay was extremely comfortable. They even had bear spray for us and binoculars and a lot of regional information.
The views are spectacular and there is a lot of grass and space. Our kids loved the horse nearby, they played horseshoes, enjoyed the hammock etc.
We really calmed down at this place.
One evening we had a BBQ with 2 other families.
The beds are very comfortable and the rooms very roomy and cosy.
Our 4 kids stayed upstairs with their own bathroom, we stayed downstairs and enjoyed our privacy with a separate bathroom (and even a sauna which we didn't use as it was warm every night).
We just loved this place!!!
We were on a 3 weeks road trip, all the cottages we stayed in were nice and comfortable, but this one was special. We got that Montana feeling.
We visited Many Glacier, Mary Glacier, McDonald Lake, Going-to-the-Sun-Road etc.
Only 15 minutes away is Two Medicine Lake which we enjoyed a lot. We swam, visited the falls and did a wonderful hike on which we saw a mother moose with her baby (swimming across the lake to it's mom).
We loved the hike to Iceberg Lake!
You should stock up before you come to East Glacier as the markets in the village don't offer a big choice. We came from Helena and bought our groceries there.
Thank you Chuck & Vicki for these awesome days, we wished we could stay a few months here. You made this time here so special and warm. We'll always remember.
The Haenle Family
This house was fantastic. It fit our large family of seven easily. Chuck and Vicki are the best and we loved the drinks and brownies, and other goodies they left for house. The house has a great barbecue on the back deck that makes summer cooing easy. The house is equipped with anything else you might need while traveling. The Two Medicine area is very close with tons of great hiking. St. Mary and Many Glacier are about an hour away by car, but definitely close enough to visit for the day, making the location of this house excellent. The views from the house are great. We had an amazing vacation! Thanks, Chuck and Vicki! It was great to meet you both.
We stayed at Chuck and Vicki's house at East Glacier for 4 nights in July. The home is Nicky furnished and updated with all new appliances and a new flat screen TV. The home borders the Blackfoot Nation and is in a mostly private setting. You have a great mountain view from the west side. We would definitely recommend this house
Glacier National Park, whitewater rafting, hiking. Blackfeet Indian cultural activities
