Lovely cottage, recommended

We stayed at Mulberry Cottage for 7 nights in April 2011, our party being myself, my wife and two boys aged 6 and 4. I am originally from Poulton but have lived in the South-East since the mid-90s.
The cottage is very much as described, and is clean and spacious. The laundry room is a real bonus, as is the number of TV sets. The upstairs of the property is enormous, and the downstairs (comprising of kitchen, dining room and living room) is a good size and is homely. The kitchen is kitted out with everything you need. Like another reviewer, we organised a Tesco grocery delivery in advance.
Poulton-le-Fylde is a small-ish market town, a few miles from Blackpool. As a (now) Southerner, I would compare it with some of the small, moderately affluent towns in Surrey, though it does have a strong Northern identity. Breck Road, where the cottage is situated, is one of the older roads, and has mostly individual detached houses. Poulton station/ town centre is at one end (about 10 minutes walk away), and a roundabout that leads to Thorton, Cleveleys, Fleetwood, 'Over Wyre' and the motorway junction is at the other end. 'Over Wyre' is something of an experience, being one of those places that time forgot. Unfortunately, we timed our visit badly and missed the Knott End to Fleetwood ferry, though this was our own fault!
Mulberry Cottage is situated on a small lane off Breck Road. The immediate neighbours are friendly. The lane leads to a golf course which rather conveniently leads to the road where my mum lives, which was a real plus for us. The boys enjoyed this walk, especially as there were small wooded areas with makeshift dens, etc en route.
The only disadvantages to the cottage are (1) the traffic noise at night was quite noticeable from both the main bedrooms, as we live on a quiet road with little traffic. Anyone who is used to this or is a heavy sleeper would not be affected. (2) the TV reception in the living room- via Freeview box- is temperamental, and we were unable to get some of the main channels, including BBC1. However, overall it is a great cottage for families or groups, very roomy, has many nice features and should not disappoint.
In the local area, Stanley Park (near Zoo) is great for kids and Legoland Manchester was an enjoyable day out. Blackpool Pleasure Beach need to take a good look at themselves- airport security and a no-food policy- does not compare well to Chessington, etc. Some of the old rides are fantastic though.

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to review our cottage & Im pleased to see you had a good time. I will get somebody to look at the freeview box in the lounge as all the stations should be available on every tv. I understand what you are saying about the traffic - it is affected by whats going on around Poulton & the time of day. The cottage has triple glazing at the front & argon filled double glazing at the back which does help take some of it away. Of course, it would be better if there were no traffic at all but Poulton can be a victim of its own polpularity sometimes! Anyway, Im glad it didn't spoil your holiday & we still gained a handsome 4 out of 5 as an overall rating - thank you. I shall look forward to hearing from you again in the future.
