Most people call Firenze their absolute favorite Gulf front Grayton Beach home. Each room is elegantly furnished and the hardwoods and beam wood work, refinished in 2014, add lots of character.
Grayton Beach is a historic beach neighborhood on popular 30A in South Walton County, Florida, between Destin and Panama City Beach. Sun, sand and fun await you!!
Each time we walk into Firenze, we immediately breathe deeply, decompress, and relax! The owner and manager have both gone out of their way to make this home a unique, special place with no details missed. The house is spacious yet cozy, well decorated and comfortable like our beach retreat should be. We’ve stayed there in March each of the past five years after several years of trying houses in the Destin and 30A area. It’s comforting not to have to worry about where to stay anymore and whether the house will meet our expectations. FIRENZE IS IT FOR US!!
Our favorite things about Firenze are its location on Grayton Beach about 20 yards from the Gulf, open views and decks from all of the rooms (and yes, they are incredible views), high ceilings and fans throughout, vaulted ceilings, 2nd floor private pool and great room with pool table and foosball, 2 separate floors with nice sized bedrooms and bathrooms (especially, the oversized 3rd floor spa bath and shower), comfortable beds and sofas, to-die for kitchen open to the 3rd floor dining area and living area, and 4th floor loft and deck. Adults and kids alike enjoy cooling off and playing in the pool and watching beach activities from the pool deck when we’re not at the beach.
We’ve stayed at Firenze with anywhere from 6 to 18 friends and family members over the years and have never felt crowded, unlike the places we rented years ago (advertising that they could sleep 16-18 people with their tiny bedrooms and living areas). The two main floors offer enough space for getting together with everyone and spending time napping and reading when we want quiet.
There are tons of activity options including beaching, biking, canoeing, fitness centers, farmers markets, and outdoor concerts and festivals in the immediate Grayton/30A area (check out Sandestin, Dune Allen, Watercolor & Seaside calendars in planning your vacation). While we enjoy cooking and eating at Firenze, we also enjoy Broken Egg (Grayton) for breakfast, Red Bar for lunch, and Café 30A and Fish Out of Water for dinner.
Firenze has consistently given us all a wonderful, comfortable home from which we’ve built great memories. If you haven’t found your “THIS IS IT FOR US” home away from home, stay at Firenze! All questions are promptly welcomed and answered by the onsite rental manager (right up the street) so any needs you have will be taken quickly taken care of with a very welcome dose of southern hospitality.
Firenze is a home you walk in and exclaim GREAT, this is exactly the home I have searched for!! We stayed earlier this month with four other couples and two single friends, our third stay in three years at Firenze. The home has everything you want in a vacation home including a private pool, decks, sensational views from all rooms, top of the line kitchen well stocked for cooking, comfortable beds and sofas, games, lovely décor, art from local artists, vaulted beam ceilings, soft lighting with dimmers, outdoor grill, and spacious bedrooms and bathrooms with high ceilings and ceiling fans. I enjoy having two (make that two and a half floors when you include the cool 4th floor loft and deck) separate floors for bedrooms and great rooms for napping and enjoying quiet solitude when we want to spend time away from friends. My wife enjoys having an elevator for arrival, shopping trips and departure and the two washer/dryer units on separate floors. I’ve decided I want ceiling fans in our house back home; they bring an outdoor feel to the home. We wish we could live there full-time! If you have any questions, just ask the kind, on the spot rental manager for assistance.
Firenze is on the beach fronting the Gulf in central old Grayton Beach. The weather was sunny and perfect during the days we were there. We had two thunderstorms at night and enjoyed watching the lightning over the water from inside. We spent a lot of time on the beach, around the private pool (it is on the second floor looking out at the Gulf!), and on the decks. We rented kayaks and kayaked in the Gulf and in Western Lake (just three short blocks from Firenze). While we didn’t bike this time, we’ve previously biked to Seaside and Watercolor to explore the area.
Grayton is an older, “eclectic” community with friendly people and dogs (the locals’ description). We ate at Red Bar (good seafood at a relative value) a block from Firenze. Our favorites are Chanticleer Eatery (a couple minutes away) and Shorty’s (right next to Firenze) for lunch and Café Tango for dinner (but book ahead- it is a quaint restaurant with excellent seafood and few tables). We’ve fallen in love with old Grayton and Firenze. Up until 3 years ago, we stayed at different beach houses along 30A in search of our perfect home away from home. No more searching- we love Firenze and I’d be surprised if you don’t totally enjoy staying there!
This was our first week to stay in Firenze on the beach at Grayton. We loved staying there for the beach and coastline views as well as the comforts of a sensational home. Being frequent travelers and using VRBO quite a bit, we have stayed in a number of highly rated houses on the Gulf Coast but Firenze beats all of the others. It feels like home vs. a rental property. The home is an immaculate, well decorated and designed luxury gulf front home with a private pool on the second floor, two large great rooms, high ceilings and ceiling fans throughout, too many French doors and windows to count, decks off of all the rooms (Open home with Views, Views, Views!!!), etc. There is also an elevator, two separate washer/dryer units on 2nd and 3rd floors, and a cabana shower on the ground level for washing off. The home is well appointed, and no details were left unturned. Needless to say, we loved the home.
We vacationed with a dozen old friends, some married and some single, and we had more than enough space to enjoy one another and spend time alone. We enjoy Grayton for its sleepy, quiet, time untouched feel. We read, enjoyed the beach and pool, sat and took in the views, played games, and bicycled around. After buying food at a nearby Publix (a few minute drive down 98 toward Sandestin) and fresh seafood at Goatfeathers market (30A about a 5 minute drive to the west of Grayton), we cooked at Firenze about half of the time. For dining out, we walked over to Shorty’s and the Red Bar (less than a block from Firenze), bicycled to Chanticleer Eatery (great place at Grayton for lunch), and drove to Café 30A (Seagrove) and Louis Louis (98 by western end of 30A). Louis Louis is the quieter restaurant owned by the Red Bar owners. We recommend them all. Also, try to schedule your Grayton vacation during one of the many outdoor festivals that have popped up over recent years (check online for Baytowne, Sandestin, Rosemary, Watercolor, Seaside, Dune Allen, Destin, etc.)
We will definitely stay at Firenze on next beach trip! No more searching and trial and error of rental properties for us in the 30A area. If you are a dog lover, Firenze is pet friendly. The kind and hospitable manager will see to it that all your needs are met. We highly recommend Firenze- you’ll really enjoy your stay there!
Firenze is a wonderful Gulf front home in an old time Grayton Beach setting. The house itself is perfect. As frequent travelers my wife and I were looking for a place with personality and character. The home is uniquely designed with vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans in all of the rooms, an elevator, and a private pool up on the second floor of the house and directly overlooking the Gulf. Firenze is spacious with two and a half levels (in addition to the ground level) and cozy at the same time. The two great rooms with comfortable couches and game area (pool table and foosball), open gourmet kitchen, and second floor private pool brought us all (five empty nest couples).
The home is well stocked with the conveniences of home, comfortable beds and couches, and has decks everywhere off of bedrooms and great rooms that offer sensational views. I just love sitting on a deck in the early evening and watching the sunset over the Gulf. My wife, the early riser, loves sipping her coffee on the 3rd level deck while watching the sunrise.
When we are at Firenze, we feel like we are staying at a friend's house who has never rented it because it is spotless. We can’t wait until our next visit to Firenze. We love Firenze and Grayton and guarantee you’ll fall in love with Firenze. It’s a unique and very special home!
Firenze is a great house fronting the Gulf on Grayton Beach, so it’s a perfect location for us in a quiet beach neighborhood within walking distance of restaurants and shops. It takes one or two minutes to walk to the Gulf, since the house is on beach sand, which is nice when you carry things down. We stayed for a week with four families; this was our third year staying at Firenze.
The 3rd floor kitchen is nice and open and has everything you need and there is a 2nd fridge on the 2nd level in the game room for the extra sodas or beer. We shop our first day at Publix and get our fresh seafood at Shrimpers on 98- they are both close to each other. (Home elevator is a nice add.) We have a decent drive to Grayton so we like to cook in and stay at the house (we call it home when we’re there) our first night. We visit the local restaurants about half of the other nights- our current favorite with kids is the Red Bar (a block from Firenze).
Our kids spent a lot of time in the home’s private pool on the second floor so we lounged a lot on the pool deck chairs when we weren’t at the beach. It was warm enough the week we were there so we didn’t have the pool heated (an option for colder weather). At night we’d enjoy the sunsets from the decks before dinner. Sunrises are nice there too. I like the decks off of virtually every room because I like to watch the sunrise from my bedroom deck.
We were very comfortable in Firenze. The home is clean and comfortable (beds are very comfortable- important to me when I want to rest on vacation). Firenze has all of the amenities of our home. During the evenings, we enjoyed playing pool, foosball and card games in the great rooms and brought a few movies to watch.
The beach is beautiful and the water is almost always crystal clear. And Firenze is a where we choose to stay. If you need anything, just ask the friendly rental manager.
I highly recommend Firenze for your vacation-you'll thank me!!
Firenze is our favorite beach home at Grayton Beach. This is our fourth stay in four years, so you get it. The home is unique with vaulted ceiling and cool beams etc. in the 3rd great room, nice pine hardwood floors, a cool loft on the 4th floor with its own deck (all of the bedrooms but one has a deck off of it), and a private pool raised to the 2nd floor and overlooking the Gulf. The house has plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms (and good size to boot) on the 2nd and 3rd levels. The well-stocked gourmet kitchen opens to the dining room and open living area so we tend to gather and hang out in the kitchen area. The house is always clean, comfortable and updated. I can't recommend Firenze enough.
As the previous reviews have said, the views from the private 2nd floor pool, bedrooms and decks galore are of the Gulf and entire Gulf Coastline so they are fantastic and make you feel serene when you're at the house... and the sunrises and sunsets are worth watching.
When we're not on the beach or in the pool, we either read, nap, or take leisurely walks... or occasionally rent bikes and head out to check out the sites. If you're looking for a beautiful beach and a super beach house on the Gulf, Firenze is it!
