On the south east of the island, Shanklin is a beautiful, historical old village with a stunning safe beach in a bay. My mother was born on the Island and we have been visitors for many years. We still are finding things to do, there is so much in a compact place.

Having selected a short list of places to buy a property, we felt Shanklin has a lot to offer, with a good shopping centre, theatre, loads of restaurants and pubs not to mention a great beach.

When we walked through the door the apartment just felt right. It was light and spacious inside with a great location, being close to a number of different walks. The beach is within 5 minutes walk as is the park and village centre. The town is about 10 minutes walk and the station a couple of minutes further.

The apartment enjoys a peaceful location with a view from the balcony across Shanklin and Sandown bays, to Culver Down and on a clear day, to the mainland.

GREAT PLACE WITH EVERYTHING WE NEEDED

We had a great stay in this lovely flat which is in walking distance of the beach and shops in Shanklin.
The flat had everything we needed – a choice of beds for our daughter, showers, bath, kitchen, nice open plan lounge and a balcony where we could see the sea!
David made us feel really welcome showing us around and even leaving nice bread, milk and a bottle of wine to make sure we weren’t without on our first night.
The flat was great base for us to see the island – we walked to Shanklin, cycled to Sandown, and drove to Ryde and on a trip around the island. We ate out in a couple of the nice pubs / restaurants nearby in Shanklin (a walk down the road), and we also had the option of buying food in one of the many Co-ops on the island and cooking ourselves for a couple of nights in enjoying the flat. Everything we needed was there so this worked really well with our young daughter.
Internet is excellent so were able to catch up on Neflix movies after our daughter got to sleep! So much better than being stuck in a hotel room when the young one sleeps on holiday!
I’d definitely recommend the flat – its facilities and location are excellent and David made us feel really welcome.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!!

David welcomed us upon our arrival and walked us through everything we needed to know about the place. It was spacious (which was so nice with 2 young children) and well stocked. Everything we needed was there, from something as little as the tablets for the dishwasher to plenty of towels for everyone as well as user manuals and brochures for things to experiemce on the island.
The bed was one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. I was sad to pack our things and move on to the next leg of journey.
The location was fantastic. It was a 3-4 min walk to a great park and adorable tea rooms. Th garden area was fenced in (again, great for the kids) and had spectacular views of the sea. We look forward to returning.
I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the Isle of Wight. It set the bar very high for all future stays!

A very impressive apartment, clean and tidy, nice view from the balcony and enjoyable to sit outside in the mornings for breakfast. Was a very nice surprise to find fresh bread and pastries and wine in the apartment on arrival. An easy handover of keys and warm welcoming from the owner. Well definitely return and would recommend to a friend.

A beautiful property, very well maintained and of excellent standard. The property was spotless and as described on the website. The owner provided fabulous customer service, before during and after. Four of us stayed here and will highly recommend this property to others. A excellent base to explore the island. We visited many attractions while there including the zoo, garlic farm and Osbourne house plus many many more. My comments fantastic, will definitely book again.
