On the south east of the island, Shanklin is a beautiful, historical old village with a stunning safe beach in a bay. One of the prime locations on the island, it is close to all amenities and the possibilities are endless. With a wonderful sea breeze and its own sunny microclimate, it's the perfect spot for a break. This 100m2 luxury cliff-top apartment is in a quiet location, with cool marble floors, lots of light and sea views, minutes from the pubs, restaurants and shops of the old village. It has a large lounge/dining room and open plan fully-fitted kitchen with dishwasher, washer-dryer, double oven and fridge-freezer; great for entertaining, 25-foot balcony with seating for 8 for al-fresco dining; LCD TV and surround-sound DVD stereo system; directly on the Coastal Path for lovely walks, easy rail and bus links to all areas of the Island...a welcome pack is provided for your arrival. The location was great, all pre-holiday contact with owner good and the apartment was huge. However, on arrival we found that our welcome pack didn't contain any fruit or chocolates, and that the milk was off! That night we realised there were only three towels for 4 of us - with no hand towels, beach towels (as promised) or bath mats. The next morning found that the toaster didn't work, nor did the broadband. Contacted the owner, who apologised. However, we didn't get any towels until two days later and I was asked to 'make do' by using the grill. He offered to send a modem on Thursday, but by then my husband had bought himself a widget to get internet access. None of these things on their own would have mattered, but all together was just a bit much. Lovely comfy bed, great sofas, but the finishing touches just weren't good enough. Sorry. LOVE Shanklin village and beach though!

The accommodation was everything we hoped and more. It was extremely spacious and modern and we loved having two bathrooms. It was great being in a quiet area but at the same time able to walk into town in the evening and to come back to the cosy sofas and large TV. The owner was helpful and keen for us to get the most out of our stay. We would recommend this property without hesitation.

Great communication from the owners before arriving, this apartment was fantastic. It was beautifully decorated and it was easy to feel very relaxed and at home. The location was close enough to walk into town, but far enough to have a peaceful relax with a glass of wine on the balcony.

I would recommend both the service and the accommodation without hesitation.

Beautiful Clifftop Apartment

A fantastically positioned and equipped luxury apartment which we couldn't fault in the slightest. The decor was lovely and the views of Sandown Bay from the balcony were superb whatever the weather and particularly at night.
The ability to be able to take a 5 minute stroll into Shanklin old town and enjoy all of the restaurants and pubs whilst being able to leave the car behind made for very relaxing evenings. For anyone thinking about holidaying on the IoW we would have no hesitation in recommending this apartment as it will not disappoint and makes a fantastic base to explore from.
There are loads of attractions etc on the island catering for all ages and tastes from theme parks, zoos and castles etc (details of which can be found in the comprehensive information pack in the apartment) to beautiful villages and excellent beaches.
We will certainly be back in the very near future!!!!!
