Visitors to Bar Harbor enjoy many things, including Acadia National Park, the rocky Maine coast, work by local artisans, wonderful food, shopping, whale watching, kayaking and more. Visitors also enjoy the historical aspect of our area. During the 'cottage' era, Bar Harbor was the premier destination for the very wealthy in our country. It has since become the popular destination for many families and tourists. But there are some vestiges of that era that still exist. The fully restored Gardener's Cottage was once the residence of the gardener to a large waterfront estate. Built in the late 1800s it is a relic from the bygone cottage era. But as it's been lovingly restored by the owner, it's now available for visitors to enjoy as their vacation cottage here in Bar Harbor. just a 1/3 mile from downtown district, and also just a short walk (in the other direction) to the wonderful Compass Harbor shoreline, an Acadia hiking trail, and the Ocean Drive Dairy Bar!

This lovely cottage features two bedrooms: the master bedroom has a queen bed and private full bath; the second bedroom features two double beds. Capacity for the cottage is 6 guests.

The living room features a gas fireplace and a flat screen TV with cable and DVD player. There is also WIFI at the cottage. However, there is no phone, though cell service is pretty good there.

Other amenities include a washer/dryer, microwave, all linens, dishwasher, gas BBQ grill, a lovely deck with outdoor dining furniture, and parking for two cars. There is also a badminton set up in the backyard!

Walk to town for dinner, or pick up the Island Explorer Bus in front of the cottage and explore Acadia National Park and the rest of Mount Desert Island. The main Entrance to Acadia National Park for hiking, biking, and sight seeing is only a mile and a half from the cottage.

The Gardener's Cottage provided the perfect setting for our Bar Harbor
vacation.  Without sacrificing its beautiful 1880s charm, the cottage
is updated to be modern, clean and comfortable.  Its central location
made walking to town a breeze and provided us with close access to all
the sights that Bar Harbor has to offer.  When we just wanted to
relax, the outdoor space was nice and private with a grill and a
badminton court.  I highly recommend the Gardener's Cottage.
