Overview

Mariposa House Rental Photos and Description

Rent the House (sleeps 8) add the Bungalow (sleeps 4) for larger groups- Private

Yosemite’s Favorite Basecamp meets the needs of almost all travelers. Couples will enjoy the privacy of the entire property to themselves when they rent the MIDPINES HOUSE. Larger groups (up to 12 people) can rent the HOUSE and the MIDPINES BUNGALOW together, giving them room to spread out.

Rest assured that even if you rent the house only, you will have the whole property to yourself, we do not rent the House and Bungalow separately. This place is very private and very special.

MIDPINES HOUSE

The House is newly remodeled and sleeps 8 very comfortably.

Master bedroom has queen sized bed, a loveseat, and comes stocked with high thread count sheets and goose down duvet. The attached bathroom has granite countertops, a 'tall-person' shower and thick fluffy towels.

The Guest bedroom also has a queen sized bed and a nice view of the night sky and surrounding mountains.

The livingroom has a fold out couch and a separate futon style bed.

There is a gourmet kitchen with stainless steel appliances, quartz counter tops, completely stocked with modern cooking and baking tools.

The spacious, open living & dining room has plenty of seating, a 42' Flat Screen TV, and a wood-burning stove.

The Hot Tub is surrounded by a large wrap-around redwood deck. The back Patio has a 6 person dining table, a Gas BBQ, a Fire bowl and plenty of seating.

MIDPINES BUNGALOW

The Bungalow is brand new. We added it to accomodate larger families or groups traveling together. The Bungalow is separate from the house (about 300 ft away) and offers the same amenities as the house minus the full kitchen. The Bungalow has a very large living room area attached to the bar area. The bar has a mini fridge, a sink, and seating for six at a unique wood slab bar top. Above the bar is a small TV. In the living room, enjoy a large flat screen TV, leather couch, a Foosball table, and a remote controlled gas fireplace.

Additional sleeping areas are tucked away behind the media wall. One nook has two bunk beds while the other nook (separate from the bunks) has a queen sized bed.

There is a nice patio outside the Bungalow and a covered porch to enjoy even in the winter.

A short drive through the gorgeous Merced River canyon brings you to Yosemite National Park. Ample free parking on site. Back yard patio has hammocks in the summer, fire pit in the winter - the perfect place to gaze at the stars. The House and Bungalow are tastefully decorated with National Park themed photographs and paintings, many by local artists. Everything about the Midpines House and Bungalow are new and fresh.

Owners Ansley and Kelly have spent the past 5 years remodeling the property to be the perfect vacation rental for your family and friends

About Ansley Singer

Ansley & Kelly Singer

We have lived and worked in Yosemite National Park our whole lives. Please enjoy our home on your next trip to the Sierras.

Ansley Singer purchased this house in 2007

Why Ansley Singer chose Mariposa

We originally bought the Midpines House to live in full time. It's location made getting to and from Yosemite very easy and we enjoyed owning our own property (working for the Park Service, we had gotten use to living in government housing).

Midpines, which is inbetween Yosemite and Mariposa, has great oak and pine trees, stays cooler than the lower elevations nearby, and provides great access to one of the best rivers in the state - the Merced River.

After a successful summer of renting the Midpines House we converted 740 square feet of our detached garage into the Midpines Bungalow. We hope that this additional space will allow more people to enjoy our home, and accommodate families traveling together or larger groups.

What makes this house unique

Surrounded by 5 acres of amazing property, the Midpines House and Bungalow gives you room to spread out.

We love sitting on the decks, admiring the views of the mountains.

The open feel of the house, having friends over, cooking a great meal in the kitchen, and relaxing by the fire are some of my favorite times in this home.

Great memories are made sitting under the stars, taking a soak in the unique cedar jetted hot tub, and sunbathing on the master bedroom deck.

People of all ages love this home, it will be compfortable for your family as you explore all that Yosemite has to offer.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have to admit that I am very sad we are leaving tomorrow! Three nights is simply not enough to enjoy Yosemite and this perfect retreat! Thank you for renting this place out, we had an amazing time and will be back, next time for a week!

Great place to stay when visiting Yosemite

  • 5 of 5

The Midpines house was a perfect home base for exploring Yosemite. Super cute and comfortable. The hot tub was refreshing and the laundry room was a necessity after a long days hike. The house had everything we needed for breakfast and lunch (we headed to Mariposa for dinner). In Mariposa, you'll find restaurants, shops, and a grocery store. The drive to Yosemite wasn't bad...maybe 40-45 minutes to the valley floor. A lot of the travel time is dependent on who is driving in front of you. It's not a road you can easily pass on. All in all great place to stay to explore Yosemite!

Perfection

  • 5 of 5

We were two couples, one up from LA and one from San Francisco, looking for a nice place to relax in the evenings after exploring Yosemite. This was the best! All instructions for operating anything in the house were clear and everything was labeled. We wanted for nothing. The best part was stargazing (I saw two shooting stars!) in the hot tub at the end of the night and cozying up by the wood burning stove. We will be back!

Everything we needed!

  • 5 of 5

Thank you for allowing my family and I to spend our Thanksgiving weekend at Midpines Home. This was a lovely property with enough privacy from neighboring homes. We made use of both homes, which was truly ideal. My parents were able to enjoy a peaceful night in the main house while us younger adults were able to hang out in the bungalow. We love the foosball table, by the way! It was an extremely relaxing weekend with family; we didn't even bother leaving the property to explore other attractions.

Great Place!

  • 5 of 5

My family (including the dogs!) stayed in the main house for four nights. The place is beautiful. Just a short drive away to restaurants and a large grocery in Mariposa. Yosemite NP is about a half hour drive from this property.

Midpines House

  • 5 of 5

My family and I (2 teenagers) had a great stay at the midpines house! Grounds of the property were meticulously kept and provided a great place to unwind after a day of hiking in Yosemite. Beds were very comfortable as well. If we could retire now, we would want it to be at a place just like this one. Midpines is highly recommended!

Absolutely perfect

  • 5 of 5

Everything about this house and property is beautiful. It's easy to find and impeccably maintained. The pictures are accurate but can't truly convey the feeling of peace you'll get from sitting on the deck, listening to the birds and enjoying dinner with a glass of wine (thank you for the bottle!), which is how we enjoyed our last night here. Yosemite is a quick, scenic drive away and after a long day of hiking, the hot tub is a welcome way to unwind on a chilly night. The kitchen is well-stocked with utensils, pots, pans, coffee, etc., which makes it easy to whip up your own meals. The house has every basic need *and* extra comfort you can think of - and as a bonus: everything is labeled! :) We loved it. Thanks for such a wonderful stay; we can’t wait to come back!
