Took my daughter to NYC for her 21st birthday. After reading reviews/looking at lots of apt & condo's-we chose Kevin's apartment because we wanted to "experience" New York like a New Yorker & not stay in a hotel -- we were not disappointed! The apartment was clean & looks just like the photos; the walls & floors are solid-we never heard any noise from neighbors. Kevin was very prompt in all communications-we texted him upon our arrival at LGA and he met us to hand over the keys & explain the apt & made suggestions for taking the subway/buses/taxis. We used the little store on 34th to get water & snacks. We used the subway, 5 minute walk to 34th & 7th, to go everywhere-were never worried about our safety-just use your best judgement as to where you go at night. We used a taxi to/from the airport-paid about $40-42 with a tip. If you are doing a lot of sightseeing,I highly recommend the 7-day Unlimited Metro Card for $30/each person - or you can get a single card one to share & re-load as needed, but for the 5 days we were there, the unlimited is the best bargain - but you can't share it as there is a 15 minute time delay to re-swipe. As stated in other reviews, the building is dated, but the doormen & resident's we met were all very friendly & helpful. The location is convenient for Chelsea, midtown, Times Square, the High Line. The kitchen is small but functional; the living room & bedroom were larger than what you would expect for a 1-BR in Manhattan. Bed was very comfortable - you'll need to use the curtains unless you like waking up early because the sun comes in both the BR and LR windows. There is street noise but being 8 floors up - it didn't bother us. A/C worked great - it was very hot while we were there. Water pressure for shower was great & heated quickly! Quick elevators! Leave your drier at home as there is one to use; also, good supply of shampoo/bath wash unless you have to have your brand. We would definitely stay there again -- we felt it was an excellent value. We ate at a lot of different places-not one bad meal & all reasonably priced for the portion's rec'd (we shared a lot): Isabella's,Amici II in Little Italy,The View,Katz Deli,Carnegie Deli,Caliente Cab Co,Bubby's in TriBeCa, Shake Shack in Madison Sq Park,Sardi's,Serendipity (for dessert!!). This was my 3rd visit but I felt like she needed to go on a tour-we used OnBoard Tours "See It All"-Small vans with A/C & knowledgeable tour guide. The Lion King was A+! Wear comfy shoes!!

The apartment is large only the kitchen is small but functional. The sofa bed is huge and very comfortable. It has all the facilities you can imagine. The location is very good and it was essential to our mobility. I walked all over Manhattan by subway wh

Owner's Response: Hello Aline, I'm very happy to hear you enjoyed your first visit to New York. As soon as I met you at check-in, I had a feeling you would really have a great time in the "Big Apple". If you decide to come back to study a language in the future, I would love to have you once again as a guest. Also, I hope you are enjoying the excitement of the World Cup in Brazil. The energy is pretty high here in Midtown. Take care and be well...
We were in the apartment the past few days. Extremely clean as previously reported (VERY important). Plenty big for the three of us with a good size sitting area (tiny kitchen but functional). The doorman is nice to have and the other people living in the building were friendly and helpful. Grocery stores on the same block as reported (on was kind of like a Kwik Trip for those for the midwest). The Amtrak was nearby which helped us out. It is walking distance to Times Square or cab is cheap. Always felt very safe. The only thing you need to be aware of is the street noise as you are in the city and facing the street. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs and you should be fine as the building itself is quiet.. I would use it again. A very good value in my opnion.

Owner's Response: Hello Xavier, I'm glad to hear you had a great stay here in New York City during your vacation. It was really nice to finally meet you and your lovely family after several phone conversations during the months leading up to your trip. I hope to see you again in the future. Thanks again and take care my friend.
We could not have been happier with this apartment. The pictures and description are 100% accurate, very clean and current. After extensive research, this apartment was much more affordable and far larger and nicer than any hotels we might have considered. The location was perfect, too. We walked to Times Square, Hell's Kitchen, the Empire State Building (a stunning view just outside the front door), Madison Square Garden and more, and multiple subway stops are nearby for longer trips. Kevin was an absolute pleasure to work with. Not only did he thoroughly show us all the specifics about the apartment, but he also provided suggestions for entertainment, dining, and transportation to the airport. And very importantly to us, two ladies, we never felt unsafe in the area; there's even a 24-hour doorman in the lobby. Some of our highlights were taking in a Rangers game at MSG, ice skating in Central Park, and dining and flea market shopping in Hell's Kitchen. If you can't already tell, we highly recommend and will be keeping Kevin's number for any future travels! Book this apartment, grab a Metro card, and enjoy the experience of living like a New Yorker for your vacation!

Owner's Response: Hello Tiffany, thank you so much for the review. I'm glad the weather didn't ruin your trip and with all the things you mentioned, you must have hit the ground running. It was a pleasure meeting and speaking with you. I hope to see you again if you decide to come back to visit our city. You're always welcomed as our guest. Be well..
My family of four (two adults & two children) stayed in Kevin's condo. Being our first time visiting NYC and knowing absolutely nothing about staying in the city, I was a little nervous about choosing a place to stay for a week. After a lot of research, we decided to stay in an apartment/condo, opposed to a hotel. We felt it would give us more space, more privacy and help save money on the trip (lodging & food costs). The pictures posted are a true depiction of the condo. It is clean, comfortable and has amenities such as a full functioning kitchen, AC, wireless internet and cable TV in two separate rooms. The bed & sofa bed were both very comfortable and we slept great the entire time we were there. There was "some" street noise - but that is to be expected in the city. The building itself is somewhat dated, but in a great location with quiet neighbors and a 24-hour doorman. We felt very safe in this area. We also found it to be a very convenient location. I loved that it was close to the subway, which made traveling to other parts of the city quite easy. A friend of mine suggested using the "Hopstop" app (for smartphones) to help navigate through the city using the subway. It never let me down. We used the subway the entire time we were there. Kevin was very helpful and only a phone call away if I had any questions. I would recommend this condo to others, as well as stay here again myself!
