I travelled with my mom to celebrate her 90 th birthday in style. It was a joy to be in this tropical paradise-warm without being hot, abundant sunshine and always a pleasant breeze. This property is absolutely superb. The Sotogrande complex has only been open for about 18 months, so everything is pristine. This unit has one of the best locations as it is directly ocean front. The minute you walk through the front door, the wow factor hits you! There are outstanding views from the living room-dining room area, bedrooms and of course the huge patio. Although the unit faces east, it has sun until about 2 p.m. and then the sun returns before dinner. While this may vary with the time of year, we noticed during our stay that the other condo units around the infinity pool do not get the sun.This condo is an end unit and has complete privacy and seclusion. At the end of the day, you can place your lawn chairs in such a way to even catch the sun set. The plunge pool was kept immaculate and really enhances the look of the property. In Aprll, it was warmed up by the sun and I was happy to read my book in my private pool overlooking the ocean. The patio is so huge that during the day you can always find a place to either sit in the sun or the shade. The bed was supremely comfortable. The kitchen and bathrooms were spacious and luxurious. Everything was immaculate. There were no bugs and no mosquitos. The infinity pool is huge and inviting and has lovely patio furniture with parasols. Unfortunately my mother could not use the pool as there were no handrails. Once you navigate the approximately seven steps into the pool, you are in very deep chest water. It is a fantastic pool-but only for the able bodied. There is a kiddies pool. The beach and the ocean at Sotogrande is well kept and is good for small children. However the water is too shallow to swim in. Less than 10 minutes away is an uncrowded dreamy palm fringed beach-perfect for swimming. My mother and I rented a golf cart and visited Juanillo Beach for lunch and swimming as well as a great day trip to the Marina for lunch and touring. The owner was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. He coordinated private airport transfers and grocery shopping with the property manager . The only negative was that we were missing security pins to lock the patio doors for the first two days. After mentioning this to the concierge, we were given the pins. Then we slept with peace of mind. We would definitely return!
