Staying at our spacious 2 bedroom apartment gives you the opportunity to be in the centre of the romantic Venetian town of Nafplion! Nafplion, the first capital of Greece, is popular with tourists, locals and Athenians. It is one of the sought after locations not only for summer holidays, but also for long weekends or city trips. Spending your holidays in Nafplion will offer you the perfect combination of sun, sea, archaeology and a unique experience. It is located by the sea, has a trendy boulevard from where you can watch the world go by, designer shops, great jewellery shops, taverns and restaurants. Just a few minutes on foot from the apartment is Nafplion bay for bathing and relaxing by the sea. Our apartment has 2 bedrooms, a living room, seperate kitchen, reception area and balconies at the front and rear. It is located on the second floor, in a small and quiet side street near to the central square of Syntagma (car free).

The apartment lies in the centre of romantic Nafplion. Nafplion has all the amenities you need on a holiday, and its own bay which lies behind the fortress of Palamidi. Visit the archaeological or the folk art museum, churches, and galleries. Stroll around the stylish, cobbled streets of the old town, have a coffee at one of the many terraces on the boulevard, or enjoy a great meal at a Greek tavern or fish restaurant. The famous archaeological sites of Epidavros and Myceane are nearby (40 min. by car), as well as many beaches along the coastline. Olympia is at 1,5 hours or catch the bus for a day trip to Athens. Visit the Canal of Corinth (1 hour) or go for a picnic in the area of Tripoli (1 hour) with its characteristic mountain villages. In the winter you will be able to ski up in the mountains of Tripoli or Kalavryta (1,5 hour). Nafplion organizes several cultural events throughout the year: Venetian Carnival, Classical Music Festival, Theatre Festival of Epidauros.

  • We request a down payment of 25% when a booking is made. To make the booking fixed, the payment of the outstanding amount has to be made at least 8 weeks before arrival. If a booking is made within this period, the whole amount has to be paid at once. Please note a reduction is given for group of 4 and less.
  • A security deposit of 100 Euros is requested against any damage done to the holiday apartment during your occupancy. This amount can be paid upon your booking balance, or cash at arrival. The security deposit will be returned before departure after the holiday apartment has been checked.

Notes: The apartment has wooden and mosaic stone floors, windows and/or French doors in all rooms. The kitchen has a marble sink and worktop, all the cooking, dining and cleaning equipment you need, cupboard space, a new electric cooker, hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, coffee filter machine, and radio that plays cassettes and CD's as well. There is a window and door to a small balcony, with a view of the fortress and church of old Nafplion. The living area has air-conditioning (for cooling & heating), a settee (3 seater), arm chair, coffee table and dining table seating 6 persons.

One day cruises from the beach resort of Tolo: During the summer there are daily cruises to the Islands of Hydra, Spetses and Poros in the Saronic Golf, departing from the harbour of Tolo. Tolo is a small beach resort at 10 kilometres distance from Nafplion. It has a beautiful sandy beach, with umbrellas and sunbeds for rent, as well as several watersports. You can also hire a small motorboat to visit secluded beaches & bays nearby. Enjoy your fresh fish in one of the several taverns right at the beach, and the beautiful scenery of the sea, full moon, little islands and the fisherman's boats.

Night life: Nafplion not only has numerous taverns and restaurants to enjoy a meal at night (during the summer you can order until midnight) but also many great bars, cafe's and terraces to go to for a drink. At the central square, and the boulevard along the harbour with its sailing yachts, it is buzzing day and night. Along the coastline, just out of Nafplion, you can visit one of the many night clubs and discotheques. Either with Greek pop music or international music. If you want to see a Greek music performance on stage, visit one of the traditional Bouzouki Clubs. Be aware... the programme doesn't start until midnight.

Beaches in the area: If you follow the coastline either side of Nafplion, you will find several smaller villages right at the sea, with secluded beaches. Just before you get into the beach resort of Tolo (at 10 km., with a sandy beach and umbrellas/sunbeds for rent, as well as several watersports) there is the lovely little bay of Kastraki, at the foot of Ancient Asini. A tavern rents out sunbeds and umbrellas. Then there is Drepano, with its long 'Plaka Beach' (pebbles): just some campings, and loved by the Greeks. A visit to Vivari is worthwhile: a small fisherman's village with great (fish) taverns and a beautiful view. And then Candia and Iria. The further you go, the more peaceful it gets. If you follow the coastline at the other side of Nafplion, you will get to Mili (famous for its souvlaki), and further down to Astros (approx.45 min. by car), a lovely village with a beautiful scenery.

The location of this apartment was perfect for us as it was just around the corner from the bus stop and close to grocery stores and shopping. Within walking distance of beach, Palamidi fortress, Acronafplio, harbour and city square with a good selection of restaurants. We enjoyed these things and more.

Inside well appointed with one double bed in a room with a view and three single beds in the other bedroom. Great bathroom...large and enough hot water.

We like to cook ourselves when on holidays, so the well appointed kitchen and large dining table suited us perfectly. We loved sitting outside the kitchen on the little deck drinking our morning coffee and enjoying the view.

Met by Carola who was indeed a wonderful hostess, explaining everything we needed to know about the apartment and area. Providing a map and great restaurant recommendations.

Must do, is joining the locals in the city square in the evening as it comes to life!!!
