The Sunny bank Estate situated on Church hill overlooking Clifden town surrounds the main house, a 19th century former convent, now a luxurious 11 bedroomed stately house, set in its own grounds with a Tennis court and outdoor heated pool, sauna, stone patio area,extensive gardens. The lodge, a period style house is situated to the west of the main house and the cottage an elegant renovation is set in its own gardens and borders the main estate. Our recently completed seaside cottage is an old irish cottage renovated into a luxurious large cottage is set on a spectacular site overlooking Streamstown bay. All of our properties have been finished to the highest standard aimed at discerning guests who are seeking unique properties which are warm and inviting with the best of modern facilities, in excellent locations. It is a newly-built residence combining modern luxury with period style ambient décor. Your stay also includes access to The Station House Leisure Centre, which has a Pool, Sauna, Steam-room, Jacuzzi, Gym and Beauty Salon.

  • All of our bedrooms have been tastefully decorated using a mixture of antique furniture and local stone and Irish tweed. With underfloor heating throughout and very good quality beds and bed linen to ensure a very comfortable nights sleep. They are spacious with excellent storage facilities and are all ensuite. All the floors are real oak floor boards, and heating can be controlled in each individual room. There is one ground floor bedroom and three upstairs bedroom with large hall and landing in between.

Notes: The house has underfloor heating throughout. The kitchen overlooks the living and dining area with granite counter tops , utility area off the kitchen , very good quality kitchen equipment including a large six ring gas hob. There are double door leading off the living room area into a large patio area, south facing with lovely garden furniture and built inn stone BBQ. It is surrounded by mature trees and is sheltered, a great sun trap. The living room centres on a large wood burning stove and large fireplace with velvet covered large Sofas, which were made especially for this property. The dining area has a large antique dining table over looking the garden. This property has been finished with great attention to detail to a very high standard to provide elegant comfort. It is aimed at the discerning guest who expects a high standard of accommodation, the best of modern facilities in a great location. You can hideaway in private seclusion or wander down to our vibrant town.

Sunnybank Lodge is a real find! The house is situated on a quiet road, just 2 mins walk from the centre of Clifden. You can come and go as you please - either going out to enjoying all that Clifden has to offer in terms of restaurants, bars, entertainment or you can relax in the quiet comfort of the Lodge. The house is very well equipped with everything you need to cook for a large family or group of friends. It is a solid, spacious and light house with enough room for everyone to manoeuvre and do what they feel like without getting on top of each other. It has been exquisitely decorated with beautiful antiques and fabrics - the attention to detail doesn't go unnoticed when you're staying there. I particularly love the cosy duvets! All I can say is that it's a very charming house and you will not want to leave.......

It is very hard to accomodate 8 or more people these days in a house which doesnt include kitchen pile ups, bathroom queues and general tight squeezes. Sunnybank offers all the luxury of space in beautiful surroundings yet is still perched over clifden, which has ammenties for all ages. The house feels calm and is decorated to an extremely high yet original standard, the details such as luxury bedding ,towels and antiques certainly means your holiday home is an upmarket retreat for all your family/guests.

I love this house! Sunnybank Lodge is everything I could wish for in a country house....big light spacious rooms, comfortable antique beds with duvets and cotton sheets, great showers and a well equipped open-plan kitchen ideal for entertaining family and friends. It's a wonderful house to relax in yet it's just 2 minutes from the centre of Clifden.
