Rockley Vacation Rental

When we arrived by taxi from the airport ($30 Bajan = $15 USD) the keys were in the mailbox for us. We let ourselves in and were immediately pleased with the 3 bedroom unit. There were 4 of us staying at the unit so there was lots of room. There is ample room for at least 6 as well. The landlord came by shortly afterwards and gave us the tour of the place and told us all about how things worked. He is a friendly gentleman and whenever we needed to ask him or his wife a question about something, if they weren't available they got right back to us. The unit is air conditioned, has ceiling fans and a well equipped kitchen. Bring your detergent for dishes, and all your food of course. The condo is nicely furnshed. There is a washer and dryer in the unit as well. All appliances worked very well, including the microwave, toaster, etc. The only problem we had was a temporary one ( it didn't get resolved while we were there but it was to be shortly afterwards) was that the TV cable didn't work. Some kind of a mixup at the cable company and no one available over the Christmas holidays. The pool is across the street and is beautiful. There was hardly ever anyone else there at all. The walk to the beach is a little longer than we expected (it is likely only 100 meters from the edge of the golf club but from the unit I would say more like 300 meters.. my guess). It took us 15 minutes to walk there. It is a lovely beach too. Grocery stores are near by with the closest one being the best for choice and price. Bert's Bar, famous with Canadians, is approx 20 minutes on foot and a great place for food, sports and drinks. I would recommend this unit to people if they like to golf ( we don't but it is a nice looking course). We rented a van ( the owner set it up for me and was most helpful) and toured the countryside and visited friends while there. This unit is best for couples or families with grown children as there would be little for small children to do. No drawbacks at all. Small sparrow like birds fly into the kitchen so keep bread in the breadbox and fruit under the little net. They don't bother you and leave when "spoken to". It has a very nice patio with chairs to sit out at night. You can feel very safe here.
