A unique character-filled lodge in central Fernie, perfect for families and mature couples. Spacious, 3300 sq. ft., with 3 floors, foyer, 3 decks and the top deck has a beautiful outdoor hot tub to relax after a day on the slopes or mountain bike or fishing or just because.
Fernie Tightlines Lodge is located within walking distance to excellent restaurants (Yamigoya & The Curry Bowl), organic market/cafe, shops, children's playground and park as well as activities. A short drive west will take you to incredible skiing & snowboarding at Fernie Alpine Resort.
Fantastic fly fishing, hiking, biking and outdoor recreating in summer and fall; unparalleled skiing and snowboarding in winter.
The Elk River is only 3 blocks away with world class fly-fishing for West Slope Cutthroat Trout and we can organize Guided Float Trips, Walk & Wade, or even great lake fishing in the Elk Valley.
We loved our stay at Tightlines Lodge in Fernie! We had four couples and two young children stay three nights in the lodge. There was ample space, two cozy living areas, and equipped kitchen, all within walking distance of great restaurants and downtown shops.
The bathrooms were small, with one being in the king suite, and there is no tub for young kids, but we managed just fine. It is right off the highway, and attached to a fishing shop, but it was still quiet. The hot tub was a wonderful way to start and end our day with the mountain views!
The owner is accessible and willing to help you out if you need anything at all!
This is the best place I have ever stayed at. Enough rooms to easily accommodate the 7 of us. The hot tub is the perfect way to end a day. I would highly recommend this place for anyone. Gord was a pleasure to work with.
Twice a year our group (usually 4-9 fishermen) make the Tightlines Lodge our headquarters in the Fernie area while we fish the Elk River and several of the very productive local lakes. We love the convenience of the location and usually walk to one of the great restaurants in the neighborhood. The spacious living, dining and kitchen area on the main floor is perfect for after-fishing cocktails and conversation (lying about size and number of fish we caught). The added convenience of having a fully equipped Fly Shop next door is an added bonus. The owner, Gord Silverthorne, is a great host and great source of local knowledge. He knows where the fish are and can provide expert guides or give you detailed directions to the most productive areas. Tightlines Lodge is our home-away-from-home when we are in Fernie!
I highly recommend the Lodge if you are planning a fly fishing trip to the Fernie area.
We had a great week at Fernie skiing which is a great mountain. The Tightlines lodge was a perfect complement for our group. Spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. There were 5 in our group so we each enjoyed our own bedrooms but if you're ok with sharing it will easily accommodate more. Close to main street and the mountain. We wouldn't hesitate to book there again.
My family booked Tightlines Lodge for Christmas 2012. The place was very clean and had every thing we needed. We were six adults and two children and there was ample room.
I had my grandchildren with me and they were hoping for a Christmas tree. Gordon was excellent and provided us with one.
The location is superb. We were able to walk downtown and were next door to restaurants. We really enjoyed the skiing but also down own time. I would recommend this accommodation. We had a great holiday!
We just got back from our stay at Tightlines and had a fantastic time. We were a group of 3 couples and 4 children (babies and toddlers) and the house was perfect for us and exactly as described in the description. The bedrooms were all great, plenty of towels were provided for the outdoor hot tub which was fantastic after a day of skiing and the living areas and kitchen had everything we needed. We didn't use the basement living room much as the kids were all so young but for families with older kids it would be a great separate area for them. One feature I liked is that both the upstairs living area and the basement have doors separating them from the hallways meaning we weren't worried about the little ones getting to the stairs.
The rental is also in a great location, near all the restaurants and shops etc Fernie has to offer and a short drive to the resort (we had some fantastic skiing). We got food one night from the Curry Bowl restaurant just a few blocks away which was excellent. All in all the property was great and the owner was really helpful, I would definitely stay at the property again.
