This is also the closest lodging for Badger Pass Ski Area, with downhill and nordic skiing--only eight miles away from your door.

About Michelle and Peter

Peter and Michelle

We have visited and loved Yosemite for many years, and are thrilled to have a vacation rental in the park.

We love Yosemite for hiking, climbing, skiing, wildlife viewing and spending time in nature. Please feel free to email us with questions!

Michelle and Peter purchased this house in 2010

Why Michelle and Peter chose Yosemite National Park

Hummingbird Raven is in the park, but outside the bustle of Yosemite Valley so it is quiet and peaceful. This house is ideal for groups of family and friends who want a nice house to come back to after a long day of adventure

We love Yosemite for hiking, climbing, skiing, wildlife viewing and spending time in nature.

What makes this house unique

Yosemite West is inside the Park boundaries, so it's a perfect location to enjoy Yosemite (20 minutes to Yosemite Valley and Glacier Point, and close to various trailheads). It has the advantage of being very close to the Badger Pass ski area, and being at a higher elevation than the Valley, which keeps the temperatures more comfortable in the summer months.

Good Value

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five was extremly happy with the hummingbird raven house. We thoroughly enjoyed the large deck and the grill. The property is very close to several of the park's iconic destinations. It is a very comfortable house and the kitchen was well equiped. The owners were responsive to our emails. All in all a very pleasent experience.

Beautiful cabin nestled in the wood, perfect for a Yosemite getaway

  • 4 of 5

My friends and I had a lovely two-night stay at the Hummingbird Raven house over MLK weekend. We enjoyed sharing meals, sitting around the dining room table, and playing games on the living room floor. We had a party of eight adults and it was a nice, cozy and comfortable gathering. The bunk room is a little small for adults, but the master BR is very spacious and the other two spaces worked great. We had a great time making ourselves at home and exploring that part of the park. The drought meant there was very little snow on Badger Pass Road this year, so we ended up hiking in Yosemite Valley in January in 65 degree weather. I would recommend this place highly to other travelers.

Great House!

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 spent the weekend with another family of 4 and the house was perfect for us. The bunk bed room was perfect for all the kids (Ages 4, 5, 8 & 10) to sleep in and the other 2 bedrooms were great, especially the very spacious master bedroom. The deck was amazing and we spent lots of time hanging out there. The house had everything that we could possibly need. As soon as we pulled up, our two dogs chased a mama bear and two cubs up a tree. Luckily they gave up and came back to us unharmed but it was a scary! That was the only bear sighting of the weekend - thank goodness. Overall we had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend this house!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your nice feedback; we're very happy you enjoyed your stay in our house and that the arrangements suited you all well. Also, we hope being centrally located to all the popular visitor attractions enabled you to enjoy much of the park. We try to remind all of our guests that Yosemite West is bear habitat and that bears, coyotes and other animals are regularly seen in the neighborhood. Thank goodness nobody was hurt in your bear encounter, we expect the encounter was also very scary for mother bear and cubs.

Excellent Location, Great for Family Re-Unions

  • 5 of 5

Property was exactly as advertised. Very well maintained and with a lot of thought to the small details and things that are required. Nice location inside the park and not too far away from the various attractions.
