If you have things you want to do in Honolulu, this is a nice place to stay. The apartment was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for a homey stay. The location allows easy access to Honolulu while also offering a respite from the busy downtown area. We will return again!
Based on previous rave reviews we made assumptions about this apartment. We were hugely disappointed. The apartment is at the bottom of a home - a bit like in a basement. The screen door did not lock so you could not sleep with the door open - making it a hot box (we do not like sleeping in air-conditioning). The shower was in a room that looked like an add on (we were told it was a steam room). The bed was terribly squeaky (and hard) so every time you rolled over it made a squeaky noise. There was no plug in the bathroom sink. There was only crockery for 2 so it was not well appointed. The gazebo (pictured) actually belongs to the house next door - which we found out from the owners of the home when we were eating our dinner (a barbecue). It is a fair way from Waikiki so you do need a car. The road up is narrow with hairpin bends. All in all a disappointment. The people were lovely though and the views from the deck were fantastic. If you like great views of Waikiki we would recommend it. We would rate it as a 2 to 3 star accommodation but expensive for this type of accommodation. We had previously spent 2 nights at Waikiki Beach for a few dollars more and it was much better.
This property was everything we thought it would be! The view is incredible. The apartment itself was clean and really well stocked with dishes, cookware, towels, pillows, etc. You definitely need a car to be up there, but we felt like the entire island was available to us, instead of just a small stretch of busy beach. (You definitely want to visit the North Shore!) The wireless internet is easy to access and fast. The owner is so kind and helpful. He drew me a map on my first day of the major roads and where to find a grocery store and some local restaurants. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone who wants an actually relaxing Honolulu stay. We loved it!
This place is spectacular. Beyond the the amazing view, this suite was immaculate. All the standard supplies are well stocked; kitchen supplies, huge stacks of bath/beach towels, sheets, etc. If you need something that you don't have, talk to Shang. I initially had some reservations about staying at a property where the owner is there 24/7 thinking there would be a lack of privacy but after dealing with Shang, I wouldn't want it any other way. He was totally absent, until you needed him, then he was right there ready to help. Shang was the most gracious host I've ever dealt with in many years of traveling. I don't want to say too much more as I'm hoping there will be availability next time we want to book a stay.
I have been here at least once in a year with my family like our summer house. My parents also love this place very much. It becomes the feeling which always returned. The reason of this is owner's humanity. He is very friendly, kind and always taking care of us. This vacation house has amazing view at day and night and fresh air and water. The wonderful environment here releases from the stress of everyday life. Conditions of location are also good, close to a highway and a supermarket, and very convenient. Easy way to the restaurant, sightseeing and shopping. Room is als very confortable, clean and tidy. I like the mist shower very much. Not noisy, no trafic jam and no stress. Best location, best owner and best price. I would like to visit here from now on.
My husband and I stayed in paradise suite II (the lower level 900 sq ft suite). It was very clean and well maintained. The property was beautiful...a very large lovely home on top of Tantalus Mountain. The views both day and night were absolutely spectacular. My husband and I enjoyed the patio and the view so much that we had dinner every night in the gazebo on the patio overlooking the Hawaiian coastline and the lights from the city of Honolulu. I could not imagine having dinner anywhere else! The owner was a wonderful host. He provided everything we needed. We had an icechest to pack lunches in to take to the beaches, we had clean beach towels each day, boogie boards and snorkel gear. He was so helpful and friendly. I would definately recommend this property to anyone
wanting to stay in Honolulu! It was paradise for us for 8 wonderful days!!!
