Dream getaway cabin/house with incredible views close to the best Arizona has to offer. The 3 acre property borders the Kaibab National Forest and is home to the highest remaining density and distribution of old growth ponderosa pines in the Southwest. A gorgeous view of the San Francisco Peaks and Snowbowl is seen from the front deck and living room and a perfect view of Mt. Kendrick from the yard. This high-country retreat is fully connected with wi-fi, direct -TV with HBO on a large flat screen tv, and cell-phone reception on Verizon or forward your calls to the land line. Peace, quiet and solitude is built-in or take a short drive to: Flagstaff with it’s great college-town vibe, shopping and nightlife; Sedona with the stunning beauty of the red rocks, Oak Creek and art galleries; or Williams, the gateway to the Grand Canyon with it’s old-school charm.
Just minutes off of I-40 and only 1 hour to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, glimpses of which can be seen up a hill a 10 min hike from the front door. The house has a huge king size bed in the lower main bedroom and a queen in the upstairs loft. There is a super thick full size fold away mattress for extra sleepers. There are 2 full private bathrooms one upstairs and one down. The kitchen is really nice, relaxing to cook in and fully stocked with everything a home chef would desire. Toss a ball with your kids in the yard or sprawl out on the comfortable southwest furniture in front of the wood-burning stove and enjoy the view. Cozy and romantic yet spacious enough for 2+ couples or a size-able family. Nature is poetry here. Fields of wildflowers in the summer and magical snow in the winter. The wildlife is bountiful: herds of elk and mule deer are seen roaming the meadows most every evening. It is a birders paradise- one afternoon brought 17 different birds to the feeder. Some of Arizona’s best day hikes are a short drive away. Stay here and unwind with the fresh mountain air and spectacular views or make it an exceptional base camp for fun and adventure!
Great Getaway home. Well stocked kitchen (pantry, utensils, appliances). We love to prepare our meals on vacation and this place was perfect for that. The property was clean and well maintained. Lots of birds and wildlife. Treat yourself....visit "Sweet Getaway".
Great place to relax and enjoy the area. Only an hour or so to the Grand Canyon and Sedona. VERY well stocked kitchen (pantry, utensils, appliances). Very well maintained property with lots of extras. We enjoyed the birds and chipmunks.
My husband and I stayed at this sweet getaway with our dogs over Columbus Day weekend and had an amazing time!! The house had everything you needed and was very clean. The kitchen had all the necessities to cook any type of meal. The internet worked great, we were able to stream live video from our phone, the Direct Tv is an extra bonus, and there is even a blueray player. The downstairs bed room had a very comfortable king size bed with plenty of pillows. The shed out back has plenty of aged and split firewood to keep the cabin toasty. This place has it all!! We spent our days sitting outside, playing with the dogs, hiking in the forest, and relaxing with a cup of tea on the porch all while enjoying the beautiful views. I am not sure who had a better time us or the dogs. If you are looking for a place off the beaten path, that is quiet and remote this is a great place to be! We look forward to visiting again!
The owner was friendly and communicable with us and answered any questions we had. The cabin itself was awesome, small and cozy and the wood burning stove kept us extremely warm. Everything about the stay was enjoyable hope to make it out every year!
This vacation home was a great way to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life! It was located in a quiet wooded area. It was spacious and clean. It felt like we were staying in a well loved home. This cabin was close to downtown Flagstaff, about an hour from the south rim of the Grand Canyon and Sedona. We say many types of birds, elk and other animals. Drinking coffee on the porch was so relaxing in the morning!
We stayed at the property over this last weekend as we explored the area, Sedona, Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, Williams. It's a nice cozy 2 bedroom that was just wonderful. The place was clean & well taken care of. The beds were comfortable & two bathrooms allowed the four of us to easily get ready for our days of sight seeing. There are all the amenities you need. We cooked breakfast there & were very comfortable. The views are great & lots of birds & squirrels around. For a relaxing quiet time, this is the place. We would definitely stay here again.
Don't pass up the small general store in Parks. Friendly people & it's a landmark Route 66 location that was built in 1906.
