This home is perfect winter or summer for a New-England coastal retreat with friends or family.
Live in South, but I love to go to the Northeast for summer. Have to get out of the heat to the beautiful, cool, ocean weather!

Have Vacationed in Rockport for 10 years. Perfect place to enjoy the ocean in quaint town or take a train into Boston for nightlife.
Home has windows on all sides that truly take advantage of spectacular ocean views. Short walk to beach or town.
Just stayed at this lovely place. This is an impeccable home in a magical location. Can’t say enough about how well designed and furnished the home is with ocean views from every room. Many thoughtful touches throughout. It’s the perfect combination of luxurious, homey comforts in an old-fashioned seaside setting. We were particularly impressed by how privately situated each of the bedrooms are from each other. Oh, the views from those comfortable beds! There’s just nothing lacking here for a wonderful vacation by the sea. Open floor plan for gathering together and cozy, private spots, too. And, everywhere you look, you see the ocean. Nice place to bike or walk the neighborhood. Close to town and beaches, too. The owner is very responsive and wonderful.
I want to update my previous review of 5/27/13...
I was contacted by the owner who said that she has already scheduled to have binds installed on the windows next week. Hopefully this will include not just the upstairs windows but also the downstairs bathroom. She also explained that the soap holders had been removed last week and were supposed to have been replaced before our stay but the property management failed to do so. She is also planning to add the additional items to the kitchen (large skillet, rolling pin, etc.). Given these improvements, I have upped my assessment to five stars for this gorgeous property. Despite the weather being cold and rainy for much of our week-long stay, we thoroughly enjoyed the beauty and charm of the Rockport area. We spend one day sightseeing in Boston (1+ hr drive away) and another day in York, Maine (1.5 hr drive away). The day in York was very fun and I'd highly recommend it. We did the cliff walk, Mt. Agamenticus (beautiful views; be sure to take some pretty rocks from the beach to add to the rock pile on Agamenticus for good luck), and the Cape Neddick ("Nubble") lighthouse. Don't skip the famed Brown's ice cream shop across the street from the lighthouse. They have tons of delicious flavors and the portions are HUGE! We ended our York day by throwing the frisbee on the beach (too cold to swim, sadly). This morning we sat on the rocks (right across the street from the house!) and watched a beautiful sunrise. Now we are headed home to Virginia today and will always treasure the week we spent in Rockport. Five stars for this gorgeous home (once the binds are installed!)
We are currently staying in this Rockport home. The house is beautiful, quite new, clean, nicely & tastefully furnished. The location is quite stunning--right on the coastline overlooking a rocky shoreline. We have found the house to be comfortable and clean. The main problem...and it IS a problem for us...is that almost all of the windows lack any kind of blinds or drapes. Only the two downstairs bedrooms have blinds. At first I thought maybe the windows were tinted and thus not viewable from the outside. We tested this theory by having someone stand outside and look in. Nope, it's like being framed in a spotlight at night. There are at least five houses in plain view and the small road out front is busy with joggers, bikers, walkers, and cars. So, it's uncomfortable at night to be without window coverings, especially in the bathroom which has a full large almost-to-the-floor window and clear glass shower. We had to buy a spring-tension rod and rig up a beach towel to get some privacy in the bathroom. The other issue is the sun coming in the windows as soon as sunrise...which is 5 am. Hard to sleep with sun in your eyes. Also, it's cool weather right now but I imagine the house would get very hot in the summer with all these windows and full sun streaming in.
There are a few other things that would be nice like an iron & ironing board, somewhere to put soap in the showers (we had to buy some suction cup soap holders) and a large skillet & rolling pin for the kitchen. These are minor issues, though. If not for the lack of window coverings, I'm sure we'd book again. The location is perfect and the town of Rockport is charming.
With children in college south of Boston and in New Hampshire, Rockport was the perfect mid-point for a family gathering.
The house was beautiful with incredible views, comfortable beds, a very well-stocked kitchen, and easy access to Salem, Rockport, Gloucester, Halibut State Park and many activities. The owner provided great information about the surrounding area, and the recommendation of Roy Moore's for lobster and clam chowder was wonderful. We spent a lot of time on the front porch, drink in hand, relaxing and enjoying the peaceful surrounding.
Would STONGLY recommend this property (and owner). Will certainly be back when we are in the area.
This was our first experience in Rockport and it could not have been more pleasant. The location was excellent and the listing was perfectly accurate.
The property was well-kept and clean. The view was unbelievable! Breakfast on the porch was priceless!
We enjoyed lobster....several times and it was yummy every time. The town of Rockport is quaint and everyone is very friendly.
Loved the experience and the Friends are the best!!
e loved our time at this beautiful home. The views in many directions were incredible. The house is new, very clean, nice furniture, very comfy beds. We climbing on the rocks across the street along the water, biking to town and using the Rockport rental resident sticker to spend the day at Pebble and Cape Hedge beaches. The owner was very kind and attentive.
