This place is a true gem; a wonderful getaway and nicely secluded. The owner couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating as well. Everyone in our group loved it here, and we'll definitely be back.

Incredible ski cabin

I rented this cabin for my girlfriend as a birthday present, and we came out in january to ski Killington. When not on the slopes, we had an incredible time relaxing in the living room next to the wood burning stove, playing ping pong and pool in the basement, and exploring the surrounding woods. The perfect mix of remoteness, simplicity and comfort. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Spacious Paradise in the Woods

This is a spacious, gorgeous, well-kept house in a location that's not too far from main roads but is totally private, with no other house in sight. There's so much to love about the cabin itself -- like the deck, perfect for grilling and hanging out, plus the covered porch with Adirondack chairs where you can sit and read. Inside there is a lot of communal space -- a huge living room where you will never feel crowded, even with guests -- but also three bedrooms (really four, if you count a basement bedroom) and three bathrooms too. The place can comfortably hold a lot of people. We got plenty of use out of the rec room too, both pool table and ping pong. Even a dartboard!

Brian makes everything easy. Sheets and pillows and plenty of towels, washer and dryer downstairs, garbage and recycling pickup. The place is sparkling clean. He is accessible and instantly answers any questions you might have.

For fun we drove to Woodstock several times, also used the beach at Camp Plymouth, about fifteen minutes to the south. Did some bike riding (warning: the hill up to the house from Rte 100A is a killer!) and checked out the Calvin Coolidge homestead (and cheese factory!) up the road a bit... Mostly we just hung out, read books, enjoyed conversations. This is really a tranquil getaway. If you are addicted to computer, Smartphone, etc., you may be frustrated. But we were thrilled. Drove twice a week to the lovely library in Woodstock (20 mins) to check email, but that's about it.

Foodwise, there is an AWESOME roadside food stand, run by a chef named Brad, about a mile or so up Route 100 A. We brought beer or a bottle of wine, sat at his tables and ate crab cakes, fish tacos, lamb burgers, salads, salmon, pulled pork sandwiches -- you name it. This is extraordinarily good food to find at a roadside stand in the middle of Vermont.

As you can tell, we loved our vacation and would recommend this house to all. You really can't go wrong... We will be going again.

Great Ski Weekend with Friends

After looking at several houses near Killington, a group of friends and I chose this house for our ski weekend - and we couldn't have been happier with our decision to go "off the grid."

The lower level is a perfect blend of functionality and fun - with plenty of room for all of our ski/snowboard stuff and a pool table, ping pong table, and darts. Upstairs was more of the same - a beautiful, open kitchen/living room with more than enough room for everyone to hang out and enjoy the wood stove and music on the speaker system.

Being in our 20s, it was SO refreshing to not have any service/cable/internet. We got to sit around, play cards, and talk to each other without everyone constantly checking their phones. (You don't realize how much you use your phone, check your apps, log in to social media until you don't have the option - and it was so nice to not have the option for just a few days!)

The house was clean upon arrival, the heat worked well throughout the weekend, and after it had snowed about 5" Saturday night, there was a plow clearing the driveway first thing on Sunday morning.

Overall, it a really great, affordable weekend with friends and the perfect getaway in VT. Brian was super helpful and a pleasure to work with from start to finish - we look forward to returning to this hidden gem of a house in the future!

Thanksgiving Get-Away 2012

We had a great time. The cabin accommodated our group perfectly. With small children we choose to eat at the cabin for most meals and the kitchen was more than adequate to handle the job (not to mention a respectable Thanksgiving dinner). We hiked, saw a few deer, visited the farmer’s market, shopped downtown Woodstock, visited Billings Farm, and stopped at King Arthur Flour on the way home. The game room got lots of use and we even managed to roast a few marshmallows over the fire pit out back. The kids had a great time and the adults had a few hours to ourselves in the evening.

It was a nice weekend
