This is a truly lovely apartment in an exciting San Francisco neighborhood, convenient to everything. And for music lovers, the opera house and symphony hall are only a few blocks away. It's a perfect get-a-way for two people.
It is furnished beautifully, has a fully equipped kitchen and is immaculate. We loved it!
We try to visit San Francisco at least once a year. What more can we say than it is now our accommodation of choice, and we'll be back!
the property was nice. tastefully decorated, beautiful yard/garden. great neighborhood. richard and steven are lovely.. glad that we had a chance to meet them. very much enjoyed our stay. would stay again and recommend to friends.
My husband and I stayed in this apartment for a month last spring. It was very spacious and I loved the layout, a nice open floor plan so I could be in the kitchen without being excluded. The washer and dryer in the bathroom was wonderful to have. The owner was lovely and very responsive. As others have mentioned the sofa could use updating but other than that it was wonderful and we will definitely stay here again. It was comfortable and close to everything in a wonderful neighborhood!
We stayed in this wonderful one bedroom apt for one week for our first visit to San Francisco! It is always nerve racking to choose a place online through pictures and reviews - but this choice was a winner!! The pictures are accurate and everything is new, aesthetically artistic, and in good condition (the couch, as others have noted, is a bit bumpy but ALL else is in good condition). Dishwasher and washer and dryer were great to have in the apt and all worked perfectly. A Whole Foods Market nearby was perfect for our needs to fill fridge so we could eat breakfast and pack lunches for our daily adventures. There are tips, maps, and helpful info in the apt to assist as you try to create the best day trips for your preferences. There is a sweet cafe for nice breakfast and good coffee a block away around the corner on Laguna St.
We were nervous about being able to park our rental car in a busy city -- no need to be worried, we had no trouble finding spots (though parking on a serious steep hill has its challenges!). You can park and not move the car again for a week on some streets!
Many outstanding activities are within easy reach: We visited Monterey Aquarium and drove down the scenic coast road #1 --- magnificent coast and we watched whale spouts off shore! We strolled through Sausalito and ate a wonderful meal at "Fish!" Don't miss Twin Peaks for amazing views, Marin Headlands for outrageous scenery, and the Presidio for humbling hills, trees, and homes. The Palace of Fine Arts grounds was another wonderful surprise with beautiful architecture and ponds which hold special wildlife: we watched baby Great Blue Herons (HUGE!) standing in the nest and squawking as mother came to feed them! Walking around neighborhoods - Russian Hill, Chinatown, Nob Hill, Hayes Valley was fun and each group of a few blocks had its own unique quality and vibe! Golden Gate Park is truly beautiful and we found lakes and wildlife there we had not expected! The SF people were all lovely and welcoming! Food was all excellent and bountiful choices.
The owners live upstairs and were only seen a couple times during the week -- very pleasant, kind, and welcoming! Melissa, the manager, emailed us patiently answering any questions we had; she was thorough, helpful, nice, and completely responsive!!
We can heartily recommend this wonderful property with its nice owners and responsive manager!!
Thank you for a wonderful stay!!
Ken and Liz M., New York City,
We stayed at Richard's & Stephen’s apartment on Fell Street for 7 nights and can’t begin to say what a delightful place it was to be in. If the truth be told, we didn’t want to leave there at all! It’s spotless, completely equipped with absolutely everything one could need and Melissa and the owners were terrific. They had thought of every last detail, even to leaving us croissants, fruit and a bottle of welcoming wine.
What can we say but that it was just an oasis in the center of San Francisco and within walking distance to nearly everywhere; endless different ethnic and top notch restaurants within 5-7 minutes walk and the same to several small grocer shops for a quick bottle of milk or loaf of bread. The arts area and downtown were so close that one could get there within minutes. But more about the apartment itself.
It has been decorated so tastefully and lovingly that one can't’t help but be relaxed and happy there. There was such an air of peace about the place. And the little garden was delightful. It was like coming ‘home’ every time we returned to it. I’ve already told loads of friends and when (not if) we are back in San Francisco, we’ll make sure to book it months ahead to be certain to get the accommodation. As I said before, my daughter and I loved the place so much that we really felt sad as if we were leaving our own home when we had to leave the apartment in San Francisco.
Thank you so much Melissa for all your work and Richard and Stephen for being such charming but never intrusive hosts. What a wonderful start to our first trip to California.
Conveniently located next to all the Hayes Valley shops and restaurants as well as Twitter building where I had to be everyday. Clean and cosy apartment with all the comfort. I would stay there again instead of a hotel...
