Ah, Bliss!

What an adorable cottage! Nestled under the shady pines in this beautifully landscaped property and right inside the nursery full of blooming hydrangeas. You couldn't ask for more -- a TV to keep up with the outside world (but who would want to?), a compact kitchenette with all the necessities, a nice chair and lamp for reading or planning the next day's outing. The decor is so 'Nantucket' and the place is spotless. The Summer we arrived, it was uncharacteristically warm, and we were so appreciative of having a window air conditioner to keep us comfortable. It is very handy to have the bus almost outside the front gate to get to town, a nice beach at sunset, shopping, or a tour of the rest of the island. Don't forget to go to Sconset/Siasconset for the day when you are there. The most charming area with rose covered cottages -- and bring your camera. And you'll be extra lucky if the dogs are around to keep you company. The owners couldn't be more hospitable. I found they had run a very successful B&B in town for many years, so they know how to keep you happy. And the bikes are so handy, you can put them on a rack on the front of the bus, and take them to the far side of the island without having to ride them that far. This place is a charmer--far from the madding crowd, but close enough to get back to it if you wish! The owners have great recommendations for food, shopping, and sightseeing. Don't miss the climb the tower of the First Congregationalist church in town for a picture-perfect panoramic view. I loved this place and hope to go back!
