Idyllic Sandycove on Dublin Bay's southern tip, this centrally located bright airy & contemporary three storey townhouse with seaviews over Dalkey Sound is only 3 minutes walk to along Scotsman's Promenade to Dun Laoghaire, home to Ireland’s watersports & sailing clubs (& main UK ferryport). And its same time to Ireland's gourmet & literary capital, Dalkey Village, home to U2, film stars and famous writers. Famously charming local pubs and great eateries with fresh seafood from quaint local fishing harbours are all within a short refreshing seaside stroll. Go dolphin spotting or rambling along some great walks like the Wicklow Way. Its only a short drive to many of Ireland's famous golf courses (over 30 within 25 mins drive). Incredibly well located on every transport route with plenty of local amenities, its only a 15 mins metro/bus/train/cycle/car ride into Dublin city centre, while 10 mins drive to Wicklow, Ireland’s Garden county, to Powerscourt or Druids Glen golf courses.

Situated 3 mins walk between quaint Glasthule village with its traditional stores and fine wine stores like Mitchell's and 64 Wines or Caviston's Famous Seafood Emporium and picturesque Dalkey village with its castle, its great pubs like the Queens and Finnegan's and its 16 fine dining eateries and range of specialty stores from antiques to health foods.

If ‘hitting the water’ or golf isn't your thing, then head for the hills and enjoy meandering through the relatively undemanding countryside just on your Sandycove doorstep. There are 3 great horse-riding centres within 15 mins drive catering for every rider.

Enjoy the challenge of the internationally famous Wicklow Way walking trail or many local walks in Killiney Park (1 Km) with its spectacular view from Vico Road which has been described as a northern echo of the Bay of Naples. Or try its rock-climbing on its cliffs or mountain biking routes, and below on Killiney Beach sea-kayaking or surfing or dolphin watching!

Dissapointed

Unfortunately, the pictures on the website are nothing like the house we stayed in over Christmas......we were dissapointed in the cleanliness of the house. The house is in a great location and has good sized beds and bathrooms but needs to be updated.

Owner's Response: We're terribly sorry that you weren't happy with our home Kathy. We re-decorated last year in a New England style which most people have simply adored. We did respond within a hour of your email complaint made on Christmas morning, and our cleaners came back as soon as possible; given it was the festive season. You did say afterwards "they did a great job!" Had you informed us a week earlier, when you arrived, we would have happily addressed this issue from the start of your stay. We did go to a lot of additional effort to decorate our home for your Christmas stay with a beautiful tree, decorations, etc so we are a little disappointed you didn't mention any of this in your review Kathy.
