A great house away from it all, but close enough to see everything. The lake is very nice and the house is updated to allow you to keep in touch with the outside world if needed.
This vacation rental was truly a gem! It was clean and very comfortable. Complete with TV, Wi-Fi and everything else you could possibly need or want on vacation...this place has it all. A short walk across a quiet street to the beautiful lake was a pleasure. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to rent for their vacation. I know I felt like I was on vacation from the moment I walked in the door... it was so relaxing.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely and well-situated house. Ed was very easy to work with and answered all of our questions quickly.
The house is very private and comfortable (including the beds, very important!). We especially enjoyed the deck and screened room on the deck, and the easy access to the lake. Kayaking on the lake and picking blueberries on a little island there were two favorite things, as were the beautiful loons we saw on our paddles. It is also a very nice area for walking, and still close enough to restaurants, shopping, etc to be convenient.
This is a great place for a family or couple!
Had a great time at Ed and Jeans place,
Everything at the place was great. The house was beautiful in a quiet wooded surrounding, beautifully landscaped with nice flower beds and a large stone patio. The house isn't far at all from the lake and the distance was actually perfect since we had a 4 year old along and didn't have to worry about her playing outside with her sisters. The house was clean but felt comfortable and lived in.
The weather was so nice 60-75 most of the time. We used the canoe with the kids and explored the tiny islands, and "chased" the loons around in the canoe (such a beautiful and graceful bird.) I took the kayak around the lake one evening which was fantastic and my first time in a kayak.
I loved the large HD TV and internet access, but anyone could easily have a more unplugged vacation with plenty of things to do. It seemed like everything we needed in the kitchen was there, we cooked several meals and used the grill too. There are grocery stores nearby and we even watched a movie at the local theater one night.
We spent two of our days in Portland (40 minutes), exploring for lighthouses and enjoying several beautiful coastal parks. We took a sunset cruise and rode rented bikes on Peaks island (my highlight.) We ate at several good restaurants including Joes Boathouse and Bugaboo Creek.
I have no complaints worth mentioning. Communication with Ed via email and US mail went smoothly. I'm glad to be able to give this place my highest recommendation if you are looking for a place to rent in Maine.
Oh Wow! What a wonderful stay. This house had all the comforts of home. It felt like a fun summer vacation home, however, I came up for the beautiful fall foliage. I look forward to a return visit this winter. The house has a beautiful fireplace and wide planked pine floors which makes the perfect ski lodge. The owners were friendly and helpful. Thank you
My son and I rented this lake house for a "home base" while doing some motorcycle touring in Maine and New Hampshire. It is situated in a quiet, lakefront community - a very tranquil environment, but close to shopping and dining in nearby towns.
The house is comfortably furnished and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. If we hadn't spent our days riding, we would have enjoyed taking the kayaks out on Little Sebago Lake.
The landlords were great. They were always available for questions and made sure the house was in good shape before we arrived. If you're looking for a vacation home in southern Maine, you should definitely consider this one.
