The Hellroaring Cabin is fully furnished. The top floor has a beautiful handcrafted hand railed sunny wood deck overlooking Hellroaring Creek. A backdoor at the kitchen leads to an outdoor barbeque, fire pit and picnic area. The kitchen is well stocked with new appliances, utensils, and modern dishware. The living room has a very comfortable seating arrangement with a warm crackling fireplace and wonderful views of the surrounding forest. The Master Bedroom has a large walk-in closet and new queen bed with a view out over the deck. A fully furnished bathroom with tub/shower along with a laundry closet equipped with new washer and dryer round out this floor.
The walk-in basement has an access at the lower deck which is also a very comfortable outdoor seating area. The main room is complete with internet, MP3/CD stereo, Roku and a 32” flat screen TV, game table, land line phone, desk and chair and hide-a-bed sofa. Also provided are a variety of board games, card games, books, and magazines for your enjoyment. A glass faced wood stove graces the center of this room. There is a half bath and full size bedroom with new queen bed and plenty of closet space and beautiful views.
The HELLROARING CABIN is located along the beautiful cold crystal clear rushing mountain stream Hellroaring Creek in a quiet side canyon of the beautiful Gallatin Canyon approximately half way between Bozeman, MT and Big Sky, MT. This cozy Cabin sets on 25 acres of private property owned by family of 1860’s settlers of the area. Hellroaring Creek flows through the heart of this forested retreat. The Homestead Cabin is one of two cabins located on this property that are available for rent (The HOMESTEAD CABIN is the other cabin). Yellowstone National Park is just 40 miles from the Cabin. The Gallatin National Forest land is just across the jack leg fence with many trail heads nearby including one out the back gate. The Spanish Peaks Wilderness Area is just up the creek from the Cabin.
The Cabin is equipped with DirecTV, Internet Service, and land line phone. We provide a variety of board games, card games, books, and magazines for your enjoyment. A horseshoe pit is located in the yard.
ACTIVITIES TO DO FROM CABIN:
Spring, summer, and fall provides for Whitewater Rafting on the nearby Gallatin River or the Madison and Yellowstone Rivers an hour drive from the cabin. A fun and exciting Zip Line that crosses the Gallatin River is two miles from the cabin. Another Zip Line is at the Big Sky Resort, a twenty mile drive from the cabin.
Excellent fly fishing opportunities exist on the Gallatin River just one half mile from the Cabin as well as on the Madison and Yellowstone Rivers. There a many local fly fishing shops and guides available locally. Give us a call for further details.
The Gallatin River and the nearby Madison River hosts great waters for kayaking. The Yellowstone and Madison Rivers are great rivers for canoeing.
The Gallatin National Forest provides ample opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, wildlife viewing, enjoyment of mountain lakes, peaks to summit and hunting. Many rock climbing routes are within two miles of the Cabin. It is not uncommon to have Bighorn Sheep on the highway just up river from the cabin. In addition to the Hellroaring Lands there is other nearby areas where you may see elk, deer, black bears, and moose. If your desire a chance to see grizzly bears, wolves or mountain goats we can point you in the right direction. Several mountain roads provide for wonderful four wheel drive or motor bike travel in the backcountry.
There are many fine restaurants, and unique shopping experiences to be experienced in Bozeman and Big Sky, both within a half hour drive, as well as in smaller bergs of the area. The Museum of the Rockies is home of one of the greatest paleontologist-Jack Horner- in the world, a must see when in Bozeman. Many fine art galleries are located in Bozeman and Livingston, an hour drive from the Cabin.
There are five public golf courses within a half hour drive from the Cabin.
Winter Activities:
Ski- Big Sky Ski Resort, which has the largest vertical drop of any ski area in the United States, Moonlight Basin and Bridger Bowl ski areas are within 50 miles. The nearby Hyalite Canyon is home of most premier ice climbing opportunities in the lower forty eight. Cross-country and backcountry trails populate the nearby forest lands and Yellowstone National Park just up the highway. The Gallatin National Forest also has many great snowmobile trails.
We offer a full range of Special Services on an hourly rate, so if there is any chore, errand, reservation, tickets, shopping, or other you would like completed for or during your stay just ask. We also accept packages if you desire to ship items directly to the Cabin. Included at no charge is information on any outdoor recreational activity in the area. We have traveled all over the backcountry of Montana and especially southern and southwest Montana and if we can’t answer your inquiry we know where to get the answer.
