Great location, well stocked,

  • 5 of 5
We were having a tough time finding a nice little getaway spot for Valentine's day. This place couldn't have been better. The cabin is nicely situated near the Terwilliger Hot Springs and lots of hiking trails. When we were done outside for the day, it was a really cozy spot to which to return.

Very well outfitted kitchen with plenty of cooking equipment. Plenty of towels and extra pillows/blankets, etc. Nice, easy to use pellet stove in the living room, along with a television and a collection of movies. There was even a washer and dryer in the cabin for longer stays. Much larger than it looks in the photos. There would have been plenty of space for 4 adults. Really a great value for the space. Next time I'm heading to the area, I'll certainly look here first. Don't hesitate, book it.

Cabin in the woods!

  • 5 of 5
What a great location for us. The cabin was great....so well furnished; plenty of supplies and linens and so clean. It was so comfortable staying there; just like being at home. We were only sorry that we didn't plan to stay longer; but we will definitely do that next time. We HIGHLY recommend to anyone who needs a place to stay in the area. Much better than any hotel we have used before. Thanks to Larry and Vicky for offering such a great property. Diane and Bob

Perfect location, quiet, hot springs!

  • 5 of 5
This is a great deal for what you get. The owner keeps the cabin fully stocked with neccessary amenities, and also games, TV, DVD collection (not many chick flicks but some really great movies!), a nice pellet stove, fire pit and ample parking. The place was immaculately clean when we got there, not a cobweb to be seen.

If you havent used a pellet stove before, watch a youtube video on how-to and be patient with it, it doesnt start up immediately! I found the directions in the yellow book located in the drawer to be very helpful.

The hot springs are just up the road down Aufderhide st. If you're not a fan of screaming kids and crowds, go early in the morning before 930am. The winter months are the best time to go. One day we went at 900 and were practically alone, the next we went at 10:00 and it was really crowded in about half hour after that. The nice thing is that the cabin is only a 10 minute drive to the mountain where the springs are located (the actual drive up the mountain is time consuming because the roads and can treacherous).

In Rainbow to the east, there is a gas station and two restaurants, and also in Blue River itself there is a gas station but I'd suggest going to Rainbow as their store as a bit more selection.

This cabin is situated perfectly off the road, yet you will feel totally enclosed when you are inside. It was very quiet and peaceful the entire time, and exactly what we needed during this busy time of year.

This log cabin provided us with a peaceful weekend retreat. The location was ideal, quiet and picturesque and the amenities were more than expected. The cabin was clean and comfortable and had we not been visiting for a workshop we might never have left! Larry provided great service, was friendly and responsive, available for questions (when we couldn't get the pellet stove started at first). I would highly recommend the cabin to others and plan to return!

Notes:
We have a thermostatically controlled pellet stove in our cabin. We furnish pellets for your stay and the unit was purchased in 2011. We also had the cabin floor tiled this year in its entirety. It came out beautifully. There is a fire pit in the back by a wooden deck off of the shop. There is plenty off street parking to accommodate trailers, boats and vehicles. This property is approximately 3/4 of an acre. No pets allowed.
