The good: House has a great pool, dock and water view. The house is spacious enough to accommodate 8 adults easily. As other reviewers have said the furnishings are "tired" but adequate.
The bad: The steps from the main floor to the pool are unsafe- very wobbly and wood has rotten areas. The kitchen had a leaking pipe under the sink that we discovered on check in. We showed it to the owners and placed a bowl under the pipe to catch the water. So much water leaked whenever the sink was used that we had to stop using the sink and use a small bar sink in the island that was very inconvenient. The leak was not fixed the whole week. We asked for some compensation for this inconvenience but did not receive any. The owners charge for electricity which we did know up front. We were frugal in our use of electricity. When we got our deposit back they had taken out what we thought was an excessive amount. We called the owners and they explained that they do not charge for the electricity you use in your rental week- they take their monthly bill and divide it by 4 - so despite our frugality - we paid 1/4 of the monthly bill- so we are guessing others that rented the house that month were not as frugal as we were!
Our deposit was not returned to us in the promised 2 weeks. It took three calls and 4.5 weeks before it arrived.
Also the home is for sale, one afternoon an agent showed up with a couple to view the house. We did not get the advertised 24 hour notice, however we did not want the owners to potentially lose a sale and the people were from out of town so we said okay. The agent was not feeling up to walking around so my husband kindly spent about 45 minutes with the couple walking them around the house and property. When we arrived home there was a message on our home phone from the real-estate company saying when the house was to be shown- I had given the owners our cell phone which should have been given to the real-estate company - not our home phone.
The owners were unwilling to remedy any of our expressed concerns so I do not recommend this property for rental.
Similar to other reviews, the interior is a bit dated. The layout of the house is a little bit strange, however there is lots of space. We are a family of 6, plus we had the grand parents along for a total of 8 people. The house was very spacious, and there was more than enough room for everyone. The linens were a bit worn, and fixtures showed their date, however the beds were comfortable. There were some minor issues regarding slow draining bath, and some closet doors that were difficult to open. The owners were available and were quick to help us sort things out when we arrived. Certainly the highlight of the property is the water front access and the pool. We enjoyed watching dolphins swim past, visits by the pelicans and other birds. All our kids caught fish off the dock, and of course the best ones got away on us.
The home is lovely and nicely located but we found it to be dated and needing cleaning and fixing. Owner was with us once and never returned our calls on needed repairs and pool operation. Shows neglect.
Very nice living room, kitchen, dining room. A terrific setting for our family gathering. The pool was super, well maintained. One of the bedrooms had no attached bathroom and so no shower without going through someone else's bedroom unless one took the elevator to the lower level. No access to the lower level except by elevator or outdoor stairs in front of the home. The decks and pool were only wheelchair accessible with someone strong assisting with the 6 inch steps. Mostly very clean. Linens were a bit "tired". Decorative pillows were fluffy, but sleeping pillows were a bit beaten down. Mostly a good setting for our family.
We are pleased to say we enjoyed the house and location. We loved the views on the deck and in the morning dolphins and stingrays were seen. We were close to all restaurants and activities. Great place for our family to make memories so much we would love to return. Thank you to the owners for there help and quick response to our needs.
Great family vacation home with all the amenities. Great for gathering and making memories. Location was central to all sites. We loved the home the breathtaking views and watching dolphins and stingrays in the morning off the dock. The owner was available and helpful. Would recommend to everyone for a great family vacation home.
