This 14 acre secluded estate on the top of Scott Hill on Orcas Island is truly an oasis. It has over 180 degrees of magnificent marine and mountain views. Enjoy the over 5,500 feet of living space and the many luxury amenities like our 70-foot lap pool, complete exercise room, and hot tubs-- all with fantastic views. Explore our woods, pick fresh fruits, herbs, and greens in our organic garden, start a campfire and enjoy the westerly views, or just pick your favorite spot to relax. Listen to the birds sing while you relax in the hammock next to the ponds set in a peaceful opening in the Douglas fir forests. Then sit back, at the end of the day, with a drink and your friends and watch the sun set over the Gulf Islands.
As you enter the home you will be immediately drawn to the expansive ocean views from the many windows of the living, dining, and kitchen areas. The main living area has a large screen TV; a dining table that seats 12+ people with extensions; a family room; and spacious kitchen with all dishes and utensils needed to cook a gourmet meal. These areas, most bedrooms, the master bathroom, and the sitting area all have vaulted beamed ceilings, stone counters, elegant built-in cabinets, and custom dining tables. The 3 bedrooms (all with queen beds) are in the other end of the house with two bathrooms, a laundry room, and a sitting room with two stained glass windows and space for the convertible beds. The numerous decks add space to enjoy the peaceful views. The hot tub is on the lower level right outside the pool and exercise room. Both the hot tub and the outside shower have marvelous views to the south and west.
A special feature of Orcas Oasis includes a detached guest house which is separated by a walkway bridge from the main house making this ideal for the family who would love their own private space but would still like to vacation with friends & relatives. It has 1 bathroom and 3 bedrooms (two with queen beds and one with double bed) plus a loft with twin beds. It also has a full kitchen, a dining table that seats 8, and a cozy living area with flat screen TV and DVD. It also has its own deck with gas grill, stone patio for outside dining, and the recently added hot tub all nestled in the Douglas Fir forest.
The lower level contains a 70-foot indoor lap pool, a 3/4 bath, pool table area with wet bar and refrigerator, and a fully-equipped exercise room. Also available is a picnic area with a fire ring so you can enjoy a campfire with s'mores and beautiful sunsets.
Orcas Oasis also has a lovely meadow with wildflowers, space to run and explore, or play a game of horseshoes or croquet. There are two ponds where you can relax in the hammock and enjoy the sound of the birds splashing in the water. A large garden often has delicious greens, ripe strawberries, herbs fresh for the picking and always has fantastic westerly views.
