Idyllic perfection!

  • 5 of 5
Amazing! Everything you could wish for and more in a holiday home. From the moment we stepped through the door, we felt right at home. We'd stopped for provisions at the Publix on Key Largo before arrival and were just in time to enjoy a beer on the beach as the sun went down. We relaxed on our back porch and listened to the cicadas whilst breathing in the balmy air. What a set up for the rest of our time in Islamorada! The pool was lovely, never too crowded, and the other residents were very friendly. There was plenty to do, out on the Ocean if the fancy took you, or not, if you just wanted to relax in the idyllic surroundings. There isn't a great deal within walking distance and you definitely need a car to explore the Keys, but after spending 4 weeks travelling down the East Coast trailing our backpacks behind us, this was just what we needed! The only negative thing about the place was that we only booked it for 5 nights and wished we could have stayed longer. We were gutted to have to leave and would definitely book again in future.

Great experience for our whole family!

  • 5 of 5
We had a lovely time during out stay here. There were six of us (4 adults and 2 children) and we all had plenty of room. The gated community is very well-kept and walking around the grounds was a nice treat after dinner each night. My daughters loved the pool – clean and well-maintained. It never felt crowded since we often had it to ourselves. The condo was also very clean and homey. We felt very comfortable from the second we arrived. We bought groceries and it was nice to be able to enjoy meals there so we didn’t have to go out to eat for every meal. I am a runner, and I felt comfortable running around the area. Islamorada is building a running/bike path which was still partially under construction but I know I’ll enjoy it when we return. Overall we had a great experience and I can promise we’ll return!

Great Vacation

  • 4 of 5
We had a great time during our stay. If you're looking to party all night, Key West is probably a better location, as everything closes at 8pm in Islamorada. As others have said, items at the house are limited, but we didn't want to cook anyway. The property and neighborhood are well kept. We went fishing with Capt. Brian McCadie out of Robbie's Marina and had a great time. We tried several of the local restaurants like Lorelai, Islamorada Fish Company, and even Ms G's Ice Cream. I would recommend this vacation spot to anyone looking to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Florida Keys.

Can't wait to come again

Can't wait to come again

Came on memorial weekend. I was so excited to come here for the week. When we got here. I was so amazed. We have four people and a baby. As soon as we pulled up I knew this was going to be nice. Wood floors. Granite. Ss appliances. Just like home. We ate most of our meals here. Although try ziggys and mad dogs. Pool area is awesome overlooking the channel and the boats. You feel special pulling up to this complex. We rented a boat for a few days. Just ask jw for a dock. They are privately owned. A short boat ride away is a sandbar. A few miles offshore we caught dolphin for the grill. Who cares about the little noise in the back. It's a back yard on a road. Sit on the front porches if your looking for quiet. We brought all our own supplies. If we didn't have it we went to Winn Dixie 6 mile up the road. It is better than any local hotel you can find. I spoke to jw a few time leading up to the trip and he had all the info we needed. Can't wait to do it again. Thanks jw

A Nice Place to Stay

  • 3 of 5
My husband and I flew to Islamorada from Pennsylvania to explore the Keys for the first time. We selected Angler's Reef because, being veteran beach rental people, we are accustomed to staying in homes rather than hotels/suites because we like the added space and the ability to cook some of our own meals. Upon arrival, our first impression was that it looked just like the photographs. Having flown to our destination, our ability to take cooking necessities was prohibited. We had hoped that the kitchen would be equipped with basic cooking essentials and spices. We found an almost empty roll of aluminum foil, an opened box of zip lock bags, one started roll of paper towel, and salt and pepper shakers. No coffee scoop to measure coffee. No vegetable peeler. A sample sized bottle of dish soap. No dishwasher detergent and no de-greaser to clean the cook top after cooking. More cookware variety would have been great and a larger frying pan is needed. You can't fit much in the ones provided. When evening came, we found numerous light bulbs that were out including the one at the front door entrance. The gas grill did not work. I agree with the other renter about the noise on the back porch from the highway. Not conducive to sitting outside. I am sure that I may sound picky about the things that were not there. However, we did fly there. Not everyone drives. So one would hope that the homeowner would provide more for his guests. We have stayed in other homes that were amazingly stocked with supplies. If you don't cook in, this place is fine for you. The grounds are meticulous. The pool is very nice and heated with ample seating. The complex is well maintained. The beach area is misleading. There are a few chairs provided. The one side has a rocky shell base with the ability to launch a kayak. The other side has a sandy beach with no access to the water. We did go to Bahia Honda Park for their beach, but it was loaded with sea weed. Whereas I realize that the Keys are a fisherman's haven, it is not a beach goers haven. That was disappointing. Theater of the Seas is an excellent place to swim with dolphin. I had a great experience there. Key West is a 2 hour drive and if you like to drink and eat, it's the place for you. Very quaint and historic. Glad we went. Sombrero Beach is actually nicer than Bahia Honda and closer too. Look it up. But there is sea weed there too.

Just what we needed.

  • 5 of 5
The house was just as pictured. Very clean and includes all linens (including beach towels!). The property and neighborhood were well kept and beautifully landscaped. The house was a great size for us as a family of four. Plenty of things to keep you busy close by...we will be back!
