Great location

The pictures do not do this place justice. It was beautiful, with dark wood and high ceilings. It comfortably slept 8 people and was centrally located in Old San Juan. We stayed here for a wedding at San Juan Cathedral with the reception at El Convento, and the location could not have been more perfect. Restaurants and shopping are very close. We did not find any early morning coffee shops close by, but the coffee pot that was available worked great, especially brewing the delicious Puerto Rican coffee. There is also a super market within 2 blocks, which makes shopping for food/snacks very convenient. If you change the number of people staying with you between the time of booking and actually showing up, make sure you email management. It was not a problem, and there was no extra charge, but the condo was not set up for 8 when we arrived (there were not enough towels and linens), so we had a little delay in getting checked in and being able to hit the town. Irma (the onsite person) was very prompt in showing up to provide us with access on the day of arrival, and was easy to work with through out the trip. The place was hot and humid on arrival, but the A/C worked well and cooled it off comfortably once you turned them on and got them started. Management recommended not running the A/C 24 hours a day to prevent them from freezing up, so it could get hot and humid if you followed this advice. Some of the towels were a little dirty and looked somewhat stained, but we had a washing machine and were not much bothered by this. Old San Juan has a very active nightlife. This place is great for young people who want to go out and party, but may be a little noisy at night for families or people who want to go to bed at a normal time. On Friday and Saturday night, the traffic was thick on the street in front of the condo and stereos, loud music, car alarms, and people screaming and shouting could be heard well into the early morning. There was also loud power washing and trash trucks making loud noise early in the morning. If you have a mixed crowd of partiers and sleepers, it is best to have the sleepers stay in the back rooms (not close to the street) with the partiers taking the rooms up front. The neighborhood felt very safe, and we would definately stay here again.
Owner's Response: Thank you for sharing your experience with us and future tenants. If we would have known about the little inconvenience regarding the towels we would have changed them immediately. Sorry about that and hope to welcome you sometime soon again.
