Fantastic 170m sq Alpine Apartment, ski in/out, internet

This has got to be one of the finest views from any apartment in the Alps. Not only from the large living room, but from the verandah of every room, we woke up in the morning to a brillant view of the imposing Dent du Midi ridge just across the valley. This is the signature mountain of the entire region - and incredibly there's not a single building or lift between it and you. Just virgin snow and scenery, as the apartment is located on the edge of rather tiny Les Crosets.

The apartment is very spacious and comfortable - we loved that every room came with its own verandah and bathroom. The recidence has a good and cozy bar, pizzeria and restaurant. We found it extremely convenient that our kids could easily and safely go to the bar on their own (it has several pinball-machines, pool tables etc) or conversely leave the grown-ups at the restaurant and go back and play in the apartment.

There's ski-in ski-out (the red piste down from the lift in front of the building will connect you with all the main lifts and slopes) and very conveniently a nursery slope right next to the apartment. Even though we were there in the high season, the Swiss part of Portes du Soleil was quite uncrowded - very unlike the multitudes you'll encounter around Avoriaz. And yet some of the best black runs are on the Swiss side - once you've survived The Wall, a stiff drink at the apartment is just minutes away. And believe us - you'll need it.

This is a very classy apartment is a very relaxed little village - highly recommended.

One small post script: We've also stayed at the apartment in the summer, and the area is great for hiking. The summit of Dent du Midi makes for a very long and tough day, but surprisingly it's a non-technical trail all the way - and the views of Mont Blanc, Matterhorn and every Alpine summit in between is to die for.

We spent a week in this extremely clean, well-designed, family-style apartment. Each room overlooks the most splendid views of the majestic Switzerland snow-capped mountains. The apartment is easily assessable on the ground floor, especially important when you are carrying luggage or ski gear and don’t want to walk stairs. Right away when you enter the roomy apartment, you take in the gorgeous view, the open, beautifully-planned kitchen, dining room and living room. Each meticulous bedroom has its own bathroom. The location of the apartment is wonderful; an easy walk into the village, yet there is a wonderful restaurant/bar located a few floors above. Do we recommend and would we return again to this marvelous village with outstanding accommodations…most definitely.

I would thoroughly recommend a holiday at Les Crosets whatever the season. We spent an action packed week in July, sampling all activities available in the Alps during the Summer. The country side is stunning and alpine walks not as arduous as one may think, helped by some ski lifts being open all year round! For the more adventurous mountain biking is an option. The nearby town of Champery is delightful with many restaurants and shops. Another favourite was the thermal springs at Val D’Illiez, along with the amazing treetop adventure park on zipwires at Champoussin. The apartment was spacious, modern and well equipped with a peaceful atmosphere, perfect to unwind.
