BEAUTIFUL UNSPOILED CROATIA

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at Amarillo Villas which is about 35 mins from the airport by car.We travelled through stunning countryside to reach the apartments. The apartment was clean and modern with plenty of room for our family of 4 and from our balcony we had stunning views of the sea and peninsula. The main bedroom has a 6 ft sleigh bed and the bathroom had a jacuzzi bath with another lovely view. The villa has a nice size pool and also has a BBQ area and hot tub.
Less than a minute to the sea with private jetty and ideal for swimming. There's a shop and restaurant 10 minute walk along the sea front which stocks most things and the restaurant is very reasonably priced. We hired a car and drove to Zadar and Split which are very historical and well worth a visit. If you fancy a bit of night life head for Trogir. Sevid is ideal for hiring a boat for the day as we did there are lots of small islands that can only be reached by boat. If you're looking for a holiday in an unspoiled location with crystal clear seas and great weather this place is for you. Can't wait to visit again.

UNSPOILT AND PEACEFUL LOCATION

  • 5 of 5
The property was spacious and light with good views. Modern, well furnished and clean with a large balcony. Added bonus of pool and hot tub. Although a bit off the beaten track - 10 mins down narrow roads off the main road from Trogir - it was well worth it as the location was unspoilt and peaceful. It was a good base for exploring the area between Split and Sibenik by car. We had a great holiday here.

FAMILY STAY AT AMARILLO VILLAS - JULY/AUG 2010

  • 4 of 5
The description of the apartment is accurate, we stayed on the first floor and had superb views of the sea from a large and well furnished balcony. The apartment itself is lovely, very spacious, clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed all the facilities provided. The girls in particular (age 11 & 9) were real fans of the pool whilst we adults enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi and snorkelling just two minutes stroll away. This is the best apartment we have stayed in for some time.
Booking was easy and Espa kept us informed.
When we arrived we would have really appreciated some local useful information in the Information Book. I attempted to fill this gap with comments left in the book. It would have been useful to know the location of the nearest market, larger supermarket, chemist, cashpoint etc. However Espa is currently working on this.

In terms of the area, we were aware that beaches are limited and would be pebbles, but were a little disappointed that the few beaches we found were so crowded and we weren’t sure how to find those little gems that are off the “beaten track” that I had read about. Therefore some more information/maps about the local area would be useful. We did however really appreciate the locality to the jetty area and the snorkelling was superb!
The view of Sevid as you approach it is really pretty, however this area is unfinished so we were grateful that the government ban on building during the high season meant we were not too bothered by noise.
We were also impressed that the area is not overtaken by high rise hotels and that Sevid in particular, once finished will still maintain its charm.
We really enjoyed the morning walk around the bay to the local shop which had the basics and sold delicious fresh bread. Also there are two restaurants in walking distance, one of which offers a fantastic location right on the water front and was worth paying the slightly higher prices for.
A car is essential to discover the area. Trogir is worth a visit and is full of medieval charm and Kyke National Park is well worth a visit, really beautiful.
If you are looking for nightlife and/or lots of sight seeing Sevid is not for you, however if your children don't need the sand and the family love the water, relaxing and good food, then you will enjoy a holiday here and we would definately recommend Amarillo Apartments.

STAY AT AMARILLO VILLAS AUGUST 2010

  • 4 of 5
I stayed on the ground floor apartment for a week in August 2010 with my wife and 10 year old son. I'd mirror most of the other comments posted, apartment was clean, well laid out with a good supply of quality furniture/cushions for loungers/sunbeds. Pool and jacuzzi were great, and made use of the 2-man kayak a couple of days which was fun. Location was a little tricky to find at first but once you get used to the turnings off the main road easy to navigate. Supermarket was a short walk and well-stocked, restaurant attached offered basic selection of food but service a little slow. Restaurant to the right along the coast had a beautiful setting overlooking the bay/boats mooring for the night, but a little expensive and again slightly slow service. A couple of good restaurauns in Marina, Trogir and Rogoznica however but these were only really reachable by car. Krka National Park is worth a visit up the coast. Overall a very enjoyable weeks holiday. The owners (Rupen and Espa) were very helpful with directions/advice and the whole booking process was very smoothly handled.

A GREAT APPARTMENT IN THE BEST LOCATION IN CROATIA

  • 5 of 5
Although Croatia is a beautiful country, some of the coastal areas do have the main coastal road running right through them. Sevid, where this appartment is located, is very different. You leave the main coastal road just north of Trogir/Marina and drive over some hills for 10 minutes until Sevid opens up below you. It is a beautiful little village on a teardrop shaped peninsula that is surrounded by the sea. This means that the whole area is coastline & seafront.

Tha building itself is made up of 3 floors, with an apartment on each. We have always stayed in the top floor, with a large lounge (with tv/dvd) and then a amaster bedroom, smaller bedroom and nice bathroom with a jacuzzi bath with a view! The apartment is air-conditioned and very comfortable, with plenty of space for a family of four.

Outside there is a good pool in an enclosed garden, with a BBQ and some seating. Very pleasant when you don't fancy a 2 minute walk to the sea!

The sea is fabulous an clear - no beaches as such, but concrete "jettys" that stick out into the water that you can sit on - pretty comfortable. There is a shop and a cafe bar near by, and a great restaurant 15-20 mins walk round the coast path (we tend to go there several times).

Sevid is only 15-20 mins away from Marina with a decent supermarket and a few restaurants and bars, and 30 minutes from Trogir, which is a fabulous place. No cars, loads of bars and restaurants and amazing yachts to stare at.

Split airport is nowhere near Split! It is just outside of Trogir, which means you can be at the apartment 30 mins after escaping the aitport.

Other great places to visit within easy driving distance are Primosten (really pretty) and Krka National Park (amazing).

For a family looking for a nice quiet location, with a pool and air-conditioning, I don't think you can beat Amarilo Villas - that's why we're heading out for our 3rd stay in 3 days time!

MY STAY AT AMARILLO VILLAS

  • 4 of 5
I stayed at Amarillo Villas, in the top floor apartment in July 2009, with my wife and two children and we had a fantastic holiday. The weather was wonderful, as was the apartment which was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The outside area was very well maintained and it was a god send to be able to cool off in the pool, in the evening we enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub looking at the stars, whilst our food was cooking on the outdoor bbq. Inside the apartment we were very impressed by the standard of the furniture, as all too often you end up in an apartment where the furniture is of a poor standard and looks tired and old. I suffer from a bad back and was pleased to find that the mattresses on all the beds were of a high standard and ensured that the whole family slept very well. The property is situated just a minutes walk from the beach and it was lovely not having to get into the car to go to the beach. The local shop is a 5 minute walk away and is pretty well stocked, although it is probably better to buy meat, fruit and veg from one of the markets in the nearby towns. There is a restaurant about 10 minute walk from the property and is right on the seafront with very nice views, the food was nice and fresh the only downside being it was quite expensive, although the view made up for it. When booking the property I found the owner to very helpful and efficient when answering my e-mails and the booking procedure was pretty stress free. Sevid is a lovely area and the perfect place for a relaxing family holiday and I would certainly reccomed Amarillo Villas to my family and friends. I would definately like to return sometime in the future.

Stretching from Zadar in the north to the Bay of Kotor in the south, Dalmatia posses one of Europe most dramatic shorelines. Along the coast are beautifully preserved medieval towns, poised above some of the clearest waters in Europe, while further out there are a variety of islands adorned with ancient stone villages and enticing coves. This area offers a pleasant climate during summer months ranging from 20-25 c in May, June, Oct and up to 30-35 c in Aug and Sept. Krka National Park is approx 45mins drive and well worth a visit, with it's tumbling waterfalls and gurgling rapids it is a fun day out for all the family. You can either drive directly to the entrance of the park or get a boat up river from the town of Skradin. Trogir (25mins) is a warren of stone paved streets approx 2800yrs old with many restaurants and bars. Split (45mins) is one of the Adriatic's most vibrant cities with a modern harbour and crumbling old town. You can get ferries to Island Hvar and Brac

Other Activities: There is use of a canoe at the apartment
