Appalachian Dream is a beautifully appointed, dog friendly, log cabin. It is nestled on a mountain top and surrounded by a lush and peaceful forest, making it perfect for relaxation, spending quality time with your loved ones, and enjoying nature. There is always something to do or discover when you stay at our Appalachian Dream. In Winter, you can unwind in front of the wood burning fire place with a glass of wine and a good book, take long walks in the woods, or visit the many attractions of our area. Spring displays an incredible variety of flowers and shades of green. The weather is perfect for sitting on the deck and watching how the mountain range changes color as the day progresses. This is also a great time to enjoy the beauty of the nearby parks and the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you like zip lining, water sports, hiking, and other warm weather fun, Summer is ideal for all these activies. You can also simply lounge in one of the log chairs and witness some of the most spectacular sunsets you'll ever see. The Fall is when Mother Nature displays her most amazing palette of colors. The crisp mountain air and clear blue skies complement the beauty of this season. Come and discover for yourself what a wonderful experience this is. Your only regret will be having to leave...

About Ben Rodriguez

My wife, Mayra, and I live in Florida, but we are mountain people at heart. Several years ago, we fell in love with the mountains of North Carolina, the people in the area, the art craft, and the climate. We dreamed of having a piece of land in those mountains and, eventually, a log cabin. Finally, in 2006 we found the perfect site for our future vacation home. Four years later, in 2010, we were finally able to make our dream a reality. At the end of 2011 we began to rent it to vacationers. It's a wonderful experiece to share our little piece of paradise with others and read about how much they enjoy it too. When we spend time there we feel transported to another world, a peaceful, beautiful, almost mystical world.

Ben Rodriguez purchased this cabin in 2010

Why Ben Rodriguez chose Marion

We decided to buy this piece of land because of the view, which is unbeatable any time of the year, any time of the day. It is secluded, but at the same time only a few minutes away from downtown Marion, where you can find restaurants, supermarkets, shops, pharmacies, and everything else you might need.

What makes this cabin unique

Our cabin is spacious, but cozy. It is decorated it with casual elegance and the furniture has been chosen with comfort in mind. It is not only close to Marion, but to many other attractions like the Pisgah National Forest, Lake Lure, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Caverns, Blowing Rock, and more.

Great cabin with a spectacular view

  • 5 of 5

The cabin was just like the pictures! Everything that you need is there. The view is spectacular!!! It was an awesome location, very central to all that we did. Don't be scared by the very steep driveway. We got up the driveway no problem in our Honda Odyssey van. Ben was awesome! Any questions about their mountain home they are always available to help. It was great to have our two cairn terriers with us as well! We really enjoyed our stay at Appalachian Dream cabin!!

The Ritz in The Mountains

  • 5 of 5

This cabin is unbelievable! It is so clean and so beautiful we didn't want to leave. They truly do have every amenity known to man and even the bed was more comfortable than our bed at home. They have thought of every detail in making one's vacation the best it can be. Cabin is so clean it appears to have been built yesterday! The owners were a JOY to work with in planning our vacation. Driveway up is steep - bring your 4WD if you have it!

Our Winter Vacation in Paradise

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we walked in, we felt safe and at home. The cozy cabin had all the necessary amenities such as cooking materials for the kitchen and the BBQ, wood for the fire place, and plenty of toiletries. Our party of 7 enjoyed the comfortable beds, the view, and the location. Marion is a nice city with a central location. Places such as Sugar Mountain ski resort, Asheville, and Hickory were only a quick drive away. Also, we appreciated nice touches from the owners such as a checkup, the welcome fruit basket, and the Christmas decorations. We cannot wait for our next stay at this cabin and highly recommend this lovely home away from home.✔️

Beautiful cabin, more than we ever imagined

  • 5 of 5

Beautiful cabin with so many amenities and very centrally located. Ben and Myra were so wonderful to deal with both before and during our stay. The cabin was decorated for Christmas beyond what we could have imagined even to the smallest touches in each of the bathrooms. We loved the TV and games being downstairs which allowed us to enjoy the beautiful fireplace and spectacular views upstairs. Yes, the driveway is steep but as others have said, it is more than worth the effort once you're there. Great little area for pets too, we brought our dog who loved it just as much as we did. Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Cozy and felt at home

  • 4 of 5

Very cozy cabin with lots of extra's! Sweet fruit basket welcomed us on arrival. My fur friends enjoyed it also! Loved having 4 bathrooms too!

TV only downstairs was a little odd, but the basement was nice and very comfortable area with games and blankets. Furniture very nice also.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your review. We are very glad that you enjoyed our property. We have only one HGTV in the family room downstairs, but there is a reason for this: we have a fantastic view everywhere in the upper floors and we don't want a TV to compete with one of the main attractions of the cabin. In addition, we think that the upper floors are perfect, not only for enjoying the view, but also for relaxation, and spending quality time with our loved ones. We are sorry that you were surprised by this, but we have a very good description of every floor in the cabin on our website. We also include detailed pictures of all the rooms. Thank you again for being our guest and please come back soon. Ben and Mayra
