Come spend some time to relax and unwind or participate in all the outdoor activities that the Adirondack Mountains have to offer throughout the year. Whether your passion is skiing, snowshoeing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, snowmobiling, motorcycle riding or just R&R - this is a great place to do it!

** We have 2 kayaks and personal flotation devices (PFDs) and 2 pairs of snowshoes for our guests enjoyment.

The cabin is a completely renovated, year round vacation rental in the Adirondacks at Lake Algonquin. The living room is airy and bright and contains a flat screen TV, and a variety of DVDs to choose from for your viewing pleasure. The kitchen contains all the amenities expected for a vacation stay. The front porch is a great place to sit back on the rocking chairs and take in the ambience of your surroundings. Included is all bedding, towels, cable, local phone service and WI-FI. There is also a washer and dryer for our guests use. Access to the lake is a very short walk away. There are many local hiking trails, skiing both downhill and cross-country are nearby and the snowmobile trails can be accessed right from the property. As a lifelong Adirondack resident, we will provide information on all activities, restaurants, where the 'locals' go and any points of interest.

Lake Algonquin located in Wells, NY has an abundance of outdoor activities in close proximity to the property. The Adirondack Mountains are known for it's great hiking trails - so whether you enjoy an easy leisurely trail or are looking for a challenging 'High Peak' experience - you will be within a short drive away. There is a beach area at the lake where guests can swim, fish, or enjoy some time in a kayak (we provide two kayaks for our guest's enjoyment). Skiing, both downhill at Gore Mountain or Oak Mountain and cross-country at Lapland Lake, are also a short drive away. We have two pair of snowshoes for our guests to use. For those with snowmobiles, you can ride right out of the cabin to the local trails - you will not be disappointed. Also in close proximity is water rafting, tubing, golf. Lake George is about an hour away and has wonderful restaurants and hosts the annual Americade rally for all the motorcycle enthusiasts. Saratoga is a picturesque town that is home to the Saratoga Racetrack, a must go, if you enjoy the horseraces or just to walk around the grounds as well as the SPAC (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) which hosts many musical/entertainment events. There is Wi-Fi and phone service in the cabin in the event of an emergency and there is also a washer and dryer. As a lifelong resident of the Adirondacks I can provide information on whatever activities you are interested in.

Notes: Cabin has lake access rights. There are 2 kayaks and PFDs (life vests) for our guest's use. There is a starter supply of items to include toilet paper, paper towels, dish detergent, brillo pads, garbage pail liners, sugar, salt/pepper, coffee filters, tin foil, saran wrap. We have a 'land line' phone in the cabin for our guests to use. Cell phone service in the area is improving, but it can still be challenging in some places. The phone is for incoming and outgoing calls and useful in the event of an emergency. In addition, we have WI-FI in the cabin. Minimum age to sign rental agreement is 23 years old.

Cabin was Great! Very clean and Kozy!! Has everything you need there already(besides food of course grocery store not far).Great location if your trying to snow mobile, only 15 mins from Speculator.The houses around are close together but this one has the biggest property and is very quiet! Fire pit out back with wood to use! Enjoyed the stay!!
Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay! Some of the homes around the lake are close together, but many are weekend homes or seasonal, so the area is very quiet and laid back. Our property is nice-sized with pine tree buffers between neighbors, and the open yard is perfect for playing catch, throwing around a football or frisbee, badminton or croquet! The fire pit behind the cabin is a nice place to sit back and relax and enjoy the ambience of the Adirondacks.

Great Place For Snowmobile Weekend

The cabin is awesome! Tom and Loretta (Owners) did a great job with the place making sure that it is neat, clean and welcoming.

We all used it as a base for snowmobiling in the Speculator/Wells Region of the lower Adirondacks.
Owner's Response: The close proximity of the cabin to snowmobiling trails (right down the road) makes it an ideal location to either trailer your snowmobile, or rentals are available close by in Speculator. You can store them overnight in the attached garage. With the many, many miles of trails nearby we are certain it would be a most enjoyable and memorable getaway!

Lazy Bear Cabin

My wife and I stayed at the Lazy Bear Cabin during the Xmas holiday and had a great time! The cabin was neat, clean, warm and cozy. We came to the Lazy Bear cabin seeking solitude and we found it. We really enjoyed the quiet peace of the Wells township; and had a great time traveling around the area enjoying the view of beautiful snow covered mountains! The information provided by the owner was quite helpful in finding our way around the area, and we really appreicated the complimentary wine and cheese. I hope to rent this property in the future.

A beautiful cabin in Wells, NY

This cabin was great and Tom and Loretta were as helpful with activities in the area as we could have hoped. The house had been recently renovated before we rented it. It was clean and clearly has been well cared for. It was a nice bonus to have free wifi and a phone in the house with unlimited long distance as cell phone coverage was not dependable. The refrigerator and stove looked new and all the appliances worked. There were two very nice kayaks in the garage for our use and it was a nice place to bike.

In all, as long as it meets the needs of my family, I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Beautiful Cabin

This gem is centrally located to a lot of great hiking trails with awesome vies of the mountains and waterfalls. My wife and I spent 3 days hiking and exploring the region. There is plenty of yard for kids to play outside safely and the area is quiet.
