“All of my family loved the apartment. It was clean and all amenities were sufficient. The location was perfect, we couldn't have asked for anything more. The advertisement for the property reflected the apartment and we all said we would definitely come again probably in the spring to make the most of the terrace views. We very much enjoyed our stay. Thank you for renting us this wonderful apartment.”

“The apartment meet our requirements superbly. With an extended family group it provided all the space and amenity that we needed for our holiday. The location is magnificent. Everything we required was within walking distance. Local shops were adequate and the assistance provided by Raffaella whilst we were here and Carolina in making the booking were exceptional. We felt most welcome.”

“View and location is tremendous! We found the apartment very clean and comfortable. Easy access to taxi, sites and attractions. Local neighbourhood laundry, pharmacy + restaurants made it ideal! Our host was very helpful in providing information and assistance. Thank you very much!”
When my husband asked what I wanted for my 50th birthday,I said Roma! I Cannot possibly have enough space here to write the review I would like to,but I'll try.Right from the beginning,Raffaela and Giovanni were soo truly accommodating and very caring couple. They were very vested in making sure we would be comfortable and feel at home.We were traveling with a group of 6 adults,and she helped us with transportation from the airport as well as with the number for very reliable cab service,who also helped us with our sightseeing adventures.They met us at the apartment and sat with us with maps and brochures they provided so not to miss anything on 'my have to list'. Letting us know where the locals eat and finding the best fresh canollis in the world,as well as helping us plans some of our day trips. They told us some of the history of Rome as well as of their families,who have been in Rome for centuries. The apartment truly met our expectations and was well worth the cost. From the spacious rooms and 360 views on the terrace, this is what Rome is all about !The spiral staircase to the rooftop terrace with my cup of Italian illy coffee was my morning regime to watch the sunrise over the colosseum and St. Peter's dome. With 3 sets of keys,it was easy for the 3 couples to part for the day ,if needed,and meet back 'home' for a wonderful Italian dinner that we bought at the local farmers market just minutes away while sipping local wine and watching the sunset. There was plenty of open space,and the kitchen was fully equipped with a plenitude of dishes and cooking needs. It also included washer, which helped with my husbands shortage of packed clothes. Two baths,one with jet tub,was great for our group. The elevator was helpful with the many bags of souvenirs and groceries(from the store on the corner)that we had purchased each day.We managed to see everything on my list,(coliseum,pantheon,st Nicholas,the roman forum,Trevi,San pietro,the Vatican,the mouth,the bathhouses,rose garden,piazzas,and then some) all within walking distance from the apartment (although the metro is only a few block away). We did almost 40 miles one day just wandering from place to place on my map without realizing we had gone that far! We would all recommend this truly beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean place to anyone visiting. It is centrally located with many local pluses. When we do return to Roma one day, we will definitely be staying with Raffaela and Giovanni Buffa !! GRACIE
I cannot say enough wonderful things about this apartment and the owners. We booked this apartment at the last minute and the owners were so accommodating and helpful. Our family was traveling with another family, we had children that ranged from 6 to 19, and we could not have picked a more perfect place for our vacation. The apartment is fully outfitted and so convenient to grocery stores, restaurants, transportation, and so many sites. We felt so at home. From the balcony you can watch the sunset over the Colosseum. Lots of Wow factor here. There was no need for a car. There is also an elevator if you need it. We traveled here by train and were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go, it is very centrally located. We toured the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, The Forum, the Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica. We wandered, with the help of maps left by the owners, and found Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon as well as so many shops and Gelaterias. We even took a day trip to Pompeii from here. The neighborhood is beautiful and safe, We had everything we needed and more in the apartment. The owners were so friendly and even walked us around the block to the store and other places so we knew where to go. The owners truly care about the apartment and that the tenants have a wonderful vacation and make memories that last forever. We treasure our time here and would come back here in a heart beat. I loved going on long walks exploring and coming back by the Colosseum and thinking we were home. What a blessing this place and the owners have been to our families.
From the warm welcome (which included assistance booking transport from the airport) to the absolutely impeccable location and furnishings, our stay was perfect. Raffaela and Giovanni are friendly, welcoming and truly invested in your comfort. And the apartment feels like home. It has everything you could want or need — washing machine, refrigerator, plenty of dishes and glasses, a TV with the option to watch shows in English (this was a hit with the kids), even a small grocery store 2 minutes down the street. But once you head up to the rooftop terrace to watch the sun set over the Colosseum, you'll know you're not at home. Still, it's the best feeling you could hope for — to feel at home and cared for in a foreign city.
I am writing this review a little late since we stayed in the apartment last July 2011. However feel it is necessary to write a review since there are not many regarding this property. I highly agree with several of the points in the existing reviews:
• views from this apartment are spectacular;
• clean and very quiet;
• great outdoor space including three separate terraces with dining and bar areas and a great outdoor shower;
• in a great old Roman neighborhood within walking distance to Coliseum and Appian Way;
• restaurants and grocery markets were easy walking distance: one grocery store is located on the street right beside the building;
• Signora Rafaela Buffa, the apartment owner, will try to ensure that your stay in Roma is enjoyable.
With regard to one of the on-line reviews which stated that the apartment was “disappointing” and more “luxury” was expected, with respect to that reviewer, don’t be swayed by that review. Yes, this apartment is not the W or the Mandarin Oriental and some of the furniture and kitchen elements could use a little updating. However, the bottom-line is that if you are travelling with a large group including children/teens/seniors, and you desire convenience, security and options in terms of eating and excursions within walking distance, you should give the apartment serious consideration. While the price may be a little more expensive than other similar rentals suitable for large groups in Roma which I don’t think are plentiful, this apartment is worth it and is a lot cheaper than a paying for separate rooms at luxury or other hotels in Roma.
This amazing apartment, in a great Roman neighborhood, provided our large family a respit and home base, during our stay in Rome. The apartment was efficient, with gathering tables and seating in the dining area, outside terrazzo and on the rooftop. The view of the Coliseum from the rooftop was beyond compare. The metro is a five minute walk from the apartment, just across the street from the Coliseum. Restaurants and super markets were easy walks, within the neighborhood. The apartment owners were wonderful people. They left a folder of timely and useful information, including the name of a cab service that was always reliable. We had a beautiful experience and highly recommend this apartment.
While the views from this apartment are spectacular, the interior fitting were far from superior. We chose the apartment because we were travelling with our 14, 19, and 21 year old children and wanted the space it provided and based on the price, expected to be provided with more luxurious appointments. As is turned out the mattresses were thin, the sheets were clean but had either been mended or needed mending and the kitchen pots & pans appeared to be the cast-offs from another home.
Positives about the apartment are: the location -close to the colisseum but didn't have to fight crowds; very clean; outdoor space.
THE DISTRICT. Located in the heart of ancient Rome, the apartment is perfect for those who love both the majestic Roman antiquities and the little alleys or squares with their charming “dolce vita”. Celio District, one of the Seven Hills, is becoming very fashionable like Trastevere but so full of greens (it is encircled by three public parks). Pubs, restaurants, wine bars and pizzerias are everywhere. HOW TO REACH THE APARTMENT. • Fly to Rome: convenient though luxurious airport transfers both from Ciampino and Fiumicino are available. It is more comfortable and sometimes even cheaper than taxis. • Drive to Rome: a large paying garage is only 50 meters away. • Come to Rome by Train: Termini (central railway station) is just two subway stops away. • Underground stops (“Colosseo” line B and “Vittorio Emanuele” line A) and bus stops are only 2-10 minutes walk.
Other Activities: Visiting the heart of ancient Rome!
