Phuket Island - Pearl of Andaman Sea: The name Phuket (of which the ph sound is an aspirated p) is apparently derived from the word bukit in Malay which means mountain or hill, as this is what the island appears like from a distance. Before that its old name was Thalang, derived from the old Malay 'Telong' which means 'Cape'. The northern district of the province, which was the location of the old capital, still uses this name.
Phuket is the biggest island in Thailand, located in the Andaman Sea off southern Thailand. The island is mostly mountainous with a mountain range in the west of the island from the north to the south. The mountains of Phuket form the southern end of the Phuket mountain range, which ranges for 440 km from the Kra Isthmus. The highest elevation of the island is Mai Thao Sip Song (Twelve Canes), at 529 m above sea level.
EAT - SLEEP - DO: EAT: Food in Phuket is surprisingly cosmopolitan, as many foreigners have set up shop to cater to their fellow travellers. All the usual Thai favourites are of course still available, with a particular emphasis on seafood. See the individual town articles for detailed listings. SLEEP: As your own place at KATA CHRYSANTHEMUM is your family holiday apartment. DO: Elephant riding, this is a good way to support the remaining domesticated elephants of Thailand and their mahout, is fairly cheap, and can be an interesting new experience. The elephants are well trained, and you can tip the mahout by giving the money to the elephant who will hand it to the mahout with its trunk. Animal sanctuary. Beach & Island hopping, Watersports, Scuba diving, yachting, jet-skiing and parasailing are the most popular activities on the island. Most dive sites are off nearby islands, but distances are fairly short and there are dozens of dive shops and boats to cater to your needs, mostly based near ChalongPie

We had a wonderful holiday, loved your place and Miss Tu is very helpful.
I have finished the review on the page of flip key but could not submit it on home away web for some reason (not sure because we can't use Facebook in china? ). Or if it works, you can post it for me.
My older son is off the school and he will come back in Shanghai in June, my husband is thinking to take them to learn scuba-diving. Date is not settled yet ( maybe late of june) but if you could provide me quotation of weekly rent for 3 bedrooms and 2 bedrooms, that would be great!
The place looks exactly like the pictures, very clean, spacious space for 3-4 people, also the kitchen is full equipped with utensils. Few minuets walking to beach, restaurants, convenient location. There is a small coffee shop just across the apartment-very nice coffee they offer. Miss Tu did great job to clean the house, we really had relaxing holiday at this place--will be back!
