'Petit Manoir' is an elegant yet comfortable Maison bourgoise which offers ideal accommodation for a small adult or family group to enjoy spacious, relaxing surroundings. It is perfectly located near to Nuits St Georges and the legendary Burgundy Wine Trail . Built in the 17th century by the local Count, the main rooms have feature high ceilings with oak beams and a great feeling of light from the tall twin aspect windows . The 2000 square metre gardens are walled, south -facing and secluded with many places to sit and sunbathe, read and relax. There is an outdoor pool area with a terrace and a barbecue area for al fresco evenings. If you prefer eating out there is an outstanding choice of restaurants of high quality and reasonable price within a short drive. Located at just a few minutes from exit 1 on the A31 we are at the centre of a motorway hub which means that you can plan a great programme of visits yet minimize the time spent traveling.

'Petit Manoir' has a quiet village location close to the vast forest of Citeau with woodland trails just a few minutes walk from the front door. The vineyards of the Nuits and Cote d'Or lie to the west. A recommended boulanger is in the next village while supermarket shopping is a short 5 minute drive. The hypermarkets and malls of Dijon are only 20 minutes north while 15 minutes to the south is the historic wine capital of Beaune with its picturesque streets, antique shops, museums and restaurants. Attractions in the immediate area include Clos de Vougeot ( the most popular visitor site in the region) and the Domaines of Vosne Romanee ( reputedly the most expensive wine in the world). There are several Michelin starred restaurants within easy access and a vast choice of more affordable places to suit every budget. We are happy to make recommendations for our guests.

Notes: While family groups are most welcome the property is best suited to older children. There is an outside pool (7 metres x 3) which is fitted with the regulation security pool cover. We prefer not to fence the area and cannot therefore take responsibility for younger children. Guests who wish to smoke are invited to use the gardens and terrace for the comfort of others . Bed linen is provided ; towel sets are available if required ( 5 euros per person ).

A Wonderful Week in Burgundy!

Mike and Hiroko have created an absolutely lovely manor home (we called it our own little chateau!) The location is absolutely beautiful, private, yet close to the supermarket and the sweet town of Nuits St. Georges. It's also an easy drive to Beaune, probably the best town in all of Burgundy with so much to do and see (and eat and drink!). The city of Dijon and the rest of the lovely towns of the Cote d'Or are also within easy driving distance, so the possibility for excursions are endless! However, you just may prefer to stay at Le Petit Manoir......there's plenty of space (all of it overflowing with character and charm) and a great pool. Mike and Hiroko live on the back side of the property, so they're available should you need them. Mike was very helpful in recommending places to go; one of our favorites was a tasting menu at Olivier Leflaive Freres.......the food was great, the wines exceptional and the informative talks presented to each table individually while tasting were really special! All in all, it was a
very special week.......the next time we return to Burgundy, we will return to Le Petit Manoir!
