Great Little Rental in Montmartre

This is a great apartment, and the owner, Isabelle is wonderful. She is incredibly sweet -- a bottle of wine, baguette, and a small toy for our little boy awaited us! We stayed for 3 weeks and loved it! Montmartre is the place to stay, and the location of the apartment is convenient to the metro, and it sits in the heart of, in our opinion, the best neighborhood in Paris.
My review of the apartment is thorough because I appreciate reading specific reviews when investing a lot into your vacation. You start off with 4 flights of stairs - not easy but you get used to it. Our 4-year old had no problems with the climb. The apartment itself is great - spaced well (does not feel small) and clean. There's a table for 4, kitchen has ample space to make a meal, and the sofa bed in the living room is quite comfortable. The bedroom is also good - lots of closet space with a comfortable bed. Also, the lighting of the apartment is excellent. We didn't watch TV but there are a lot of channels. The internet has great connection speed. And finally for Europe, I was incredibly impressed with the bathroom - good size and the rain shower was amazing. Only issue with the bathroom is the door does not close -- no doorknob, no latch?
My favorite part were the great views of Paris from both windows. You can open both windows and listen to the Paris bustle at the cafes just down the hill from the apartment. It's a great setting. We pulled up two chairs to the windows, opened a bottle of wine, and really enjoyed the sunsets.
The few minor downfalls I feel I should mention to potential visitors about is that there is no oven (but there is a toaster oven) and there is no drying machine, normal in Europe, for the laundry (we used the local laundromat). The biggest downfall in our opinion is that the air gets a bit thick with all the smoking neighbors by night. It gets through the walls and did get annoying at times resulting in some dry throats. It may help if the owner installs an air purifier since there is no A/C. The other annoying thing was one of the apartments in the building was remodeling so hammering was going on during day but we worked our schedules around it.
This is a great apartment in an absolute wonderful neighborhood...especially at night. If it wasn't for the smoking, it would be absolutely perfect but you are likely to get that in any apartment you stay in Paris. Isabelle is a great owner who cares about her guests. We highly recommend it!
