Overview

Estes Park House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths (Sleeps 10)

'It's not just a transaction...for us it's our passion!'

AspenHaus Lodge is perfectly situated overlooking the Big Thompson River, with snow-cap views of the continental divide while backing up to Giant Track Mountain for the ultimate in end-of-road privacy. From our home it is just a short walk into the Rocky Mountain National Park, 1/2 mile to the YMCA of the Rockies, 2 miles to the Beaver Meadows entrance of RMNP and 3.5 miles to the town center of Estes Park. Or simply leave your car at our home and take the FREE Estes Park Summer shuttle from a stop located within 1/4 mile of AspenHaus Lodge!!

The main level great room has a spectacular floor-to-30 ft. ceiling river rock gas fireplace which is flanked by a surround sound audio visual system (with 2 flat screens); simply the ideal family gathering place with its adjoining fully equipped kitchen and dining room area.

From the great room you can step out to the fantastic wrap-around deck to enjoy excellent mountain views along with the sights and sounds of the Big Thompson River... or take it all in from the 6-person hot tub or while cooking dinner on the Weber gas grill!

The cozy master bedroom has a double-sided gas fireplace shared with a jetted tub en suite. Open the deck doors and let the sounds of the Big Thompson lull you to sleep or step out to take in the perfectly clear Colorado sky where you might want to reach out to grab a star!

The second level of AspenHaus has two bedrooms (a king-sized bed in each), 2 private bathrooms and an amazing open loft area with picture windows framing the river, pine forest and snow-cap views. No artwork needed on these walls!

A second family room is located in the lower level where you can walk-out to meet wild turkeys and spot other wild life coming up the driveway! The bunk room with a full bath is also located on this level.

A one car attached garage space (with a spare refrigerator) comes with this rental. We also have a main floor laundry room.

As our guest you will enjoy access to shared common fishing, picnic and playground areas along the Big Thompson river.

From the doorsteps of AspenHaus enjoy a short woodsy walk along the Big Thompson River and emerge to expansive views of Moraine Park. Visit the museum, catch the shuttle to other RMNP destinations or continue your hike on to Cub Lake where you will have extraordinary opportunities to view herds of elk along the way.

Need we go on... our family thinks that AspenHaus Lodge is perfect in every way... not just another vacation rental but our perfect mountain home!

Please note: Our home is not available for group events (including weddings), sorry!

Family Dream Vacation!

  • 5 of 5
Not sure where to start...Sue was the perfect hostess from beginning to end. It started with regular emails prior to our arrival with updates on events in the area, driving conditions, websites to local eateries and recommendations, etc. We were so excited by the time it got here we couldn't stand it! She was fully accommodating for our new granddaughter with baby hiker backpack, highchair, and pack and play. Sooo much easier to pack:) Finally we arrived and OH MY!! Their home was just amazing! Even better then the photos!! (which I looked at almost every day lol) The views were breathtaking and spiritual. From every window. Kind Coffee was waiting by the coffee maker (a favorite spot in Estes)! The beds were perfect in every room. All slept very well. Loved the spa towels for the hot tub. They thought of everything. I am a big fan of a wood burning fireplace so didn't know if the gas would be as fun...BUT fooled me! Awesome gas logs. You will never know the difference. We had it going all day long! It was a beautiful backdrop to our Thanksgiving feast prepared by all 10 of us. (ok...the baby just watched) Kitchen was fully equipped and we were not missing a thing. Plenty of room for some very competitive card games! Oh...and charades. PERFECT vacation. PERFECT hosts! Thank you Mark and Sue! CANNOT. WAIT. TO. RETURN.

Excellent house even better hosts!

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at Aspenhaus. Everything was perfect and the house is even better than the pictures! I would recommend Aspenhaus to anyone looking to enjoy Estes Park. sue is fantastic and the house is the best equipped we have ever stayed in and we have rented about 20 VRBOs. First time I have not had to buy anything for our stay to include paper towels, tolietries, and washing products. Unbelievable. sue really goes out of her way to provide you with the best experience possible. Loved it!

Great times 3- Great Home in a Great spot near a Great Area

  • 5 of 5
This rental experience was tremendous. The star of the weekend was the property. It was above and beyond its description - beautiful home in a beautiful setting. The owner was very professional and extremely friendly. Everything worked, everything we needed seemed to be just a few steps away. The property itself was very well maintained and beautifully decorated.
The best thing I can say about this home was that when we were finished with our activities of the day we did not feel like we were going back to a rental. We felt like we were going home.

Everything we expected and more..

  • 5 of 5
We had a wonderful time here! The house was everything we were expecting and more. The area is very quiet and just far enough away from town but still close enough to take advantage of everything Estes Park has to offer. The wildlife was incredible! We saw several elk and turkeys walk down the driveway, quite the experience! Sue, the owner, was very accommodating and very helpful by providing excellent suggestions on the local attractions and sights. We will definitely be back!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for taking the time to tell others about AspenHaus, much appreciated! We love the wildlife viewing too (right from the deck!)...recent guests even spotted a bull moose below the hot tub...a rare occurance on the east-side of RMNP, 1st time on our own property! We are looking forward to your return, hopefully sooner than later! Mark and Sue, Owners

Ready to go back!

  • 5 of 5
Love this house and location! We have been coming to Estes for about 30 years and have stayed in many lovely homes BUT this house was different from the rest. Sue, the owner, is the nicest and most accommodating owner we've rented from. The house is lovely and sits at the end of the small subdivision street overlooking the Big Thompson River. The house is very spacious, nicely decorated and very comfortable. It was perfect for the 7 people that stayed in the home. Sue had a Pack N Play that we were able to use for my 4 month old granddaughter. She even has a backpack for your use to take the babies on hikes! When we arrived everyone was so pleased at the size, location and amenities of the house. We have never stayed in the house where they provided all the necessities and a pound of coffee. There were 2 coffee makers, which worked great for the Decaf individuals, and filters for both. The Kitchen had several rolls of paper towels and each bathroom had several rolls of toilet paper as well. It was nice to not purchase these things for once! The downstairs was extremely large and spacious. We loved being able to watch Netflix on the TV downstairs if we wanted to. We loved so much about this house but we probably enjoyed sitting on the deck listening and looking at the river the most. The hot tub was perfect to relax in at night and star gaze! There isn't anything we can say negative about this house. We will be back someday, hopefully sooner than later! We miss it already.

Tips on Restaurants: Mama Rose's, Poppy's, Wapiti Restaurant, Ed's Cantina, The Grubsteak, Notchtop Bakery (lunch/dinner) and The Visitors Center Restaurant on the Fall River side. We used to recommend Claire's but changed our minds after a disappointing dinner there.

Hear the Big Thompson from Deck

  • 5 of 5
The Big Thompson River was high and roaring in early July and, from this home's deck, you could hear it and see about a quarter mile of it as it made its turns through the area. This is a beautifully kept property where everything works, including the large hot tub. The owners are amazing, with attention to detail, checking in to make sure everything is ok, and giving many tips for hikes and other activities. I have stayed in the two properties they own several times, and the care and quality is always consistent. A really great stay.
