Overview

Estes Park House Rental Photos and Description

House, 4 Bedrooms, 4.5 Baths (Sleeps 10)

'It's not just a transaction...for us it's our passion!'

AspenHaus Lodge is perfectly situated overlooking the Big Thompson River, with snow-cap views of the continental divide while backing up to Giant Track Mountain for the ultimate in end-of-road privacy. From our home it is just a short walk into the Rocky Mountain National Park, 1/2 mile to the YMCA of the Rockies, 2 miles to the Beaver Meadows entrance of RMNP and 3.5 miles to the town center of Estes Park. Or simply leave your car at our home and take the FREE Estes Park Summer shuttle from a stop located within 1/4 mile of AspenHaus Lodge!!

The main level great room has a spectacular floor-to-30 ft. ceiling river rock gas fireplace which is flanked by a surround sound audio visual system (with 2 flat screens); simply the ideal family gathering place with its adjoining fully equipped kitchen and dining room area.

From the great room you can step out to the fantastic wrap-around deck to enjoy excellent mountain views along with the sights and sounds of the Big Thompson River... or take it all in from the 6-person hot tub or while cooking dinner on the Weber gas grill!

The cozy master bedroom has a double-sided gas fireplace shared with a jetted tub en suite. Open the deck doors and let the sounds of the Big Thompson lull you to sleep or step out to take in the perfectly clear Colorado sky where you might want to reach out to grab a star!

The second level of AspenHaus has two bedrooms (a king-sized bed in each), 2 private bathrooms and an amazing open loft area with picture windows framing the river, pine forest and snow-cap views. No artwork needed on these walls!

A second family room is located in the lower level where you can walk-out to meet wild turkeys and spot other wild life coming up the driveway! The bunk room with a full bath is also located on this level.

A one car attached garage space (with a spare refrigerator) comes with this rental. We also have a main floor laundry room.

As our guest you will enjoy access to shared common fishing, picnic and playground areas along the Big Thompson river.

From the doorsteps of AspenHaus enjoy a short woodsy walk along the Big Thompson River and emerge to expansive views of Moraine Park. Visit the museum, catch the shuttle to other RMNP destinations or continue your hike on to Cub Lake where you will have extraordinary opportunities to view herds of elk along the way.

Need we go on... our family thinks that AspenHaus Lodge is perfect in every way... not just another vacation rental but our perfect mountain home!

Please note: Our home is not available for group events (including weddings), sorry!

Why Sue Werder chose Estes Park

We have spent many of our summer vacations visiting national parks and the RMNP is our hands-down favorite! After 2 years of searching for a home in Estes Park we knew that this was the perfect one for us!

What makes this house unique

Location, location, location...walk directly into the RMNP or access the shuttle bus by foot to avoid traffic and delays! We have views of both the Big Thompson River AND the Continenal Divide...to have one is special to have both is extra special and rare!

You won't be disappointed!!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for the WOW factor, this property has it! Even better than the pictures, especially the kitchen which is open to the living room and has beautiful appliances. I rented this for my husband's 40th birthday to spend with our family of 6 and our best friend's family of 3-there was more than enough room and we had an awesome time! Our favorite parts were the hot tub with the softest towels we have ever felt and an incredible view of the stars. The gigantic fireplace that made a huge space feel cozy, the fireplace in the master bedroom/bathroom was lovely too. It's so close to town but you feel a million miles away. The gorgeous mountain views with plenty of wildlife- elk, deer and turkeys. The games...which we busted out (the competition was fierce)! They have stocked everything you'll need, even a hand mixer. So, I was able to make a birthday cake :). Grocery store is very close and Smokin' Dave's BBQ (which is a must). Sue and Mark are passionate about their home and providing a high level of service--thank you again for everything!!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words regarding our home; and taking the time to write them! We enjoyed your stay....albeit in the midst of a humongous snowstorm which kept us busy with all of the shoveling...Ken's help was much appreciated : ) We also appreciated the fact that your chose our home in the first place. We look forward to your return, thanks again!! Mark and Sue, Owners

More Than Advertised!

  • 5 of 5

Family of five rented this home between Chistmas and New Years Day 2015. It was absolutely amazing. The home is beyond spacious. Rustic yet charming. And fully equipped with anything you might need. Just so happened that we had 6" of snow during our 4 day stay. Views were awesome. It was also unusually cold during our stay (as cold as -15), and the home stayed warm and cozy. Sue and Mark were extremely helpful and committed to our stay being wonderful. The town is small, but very nice. Tons of stores for shopping. Rocky Mtn Natl Park entrance is 5 mins from home. Priced appropriately. Highly recommend this property. Memories that we will never forget!

Owner's Response: Your family was great!! We appreciated how you embraced mother nature with all of the snow and cold temperatures that she brought your way....below 0 for much (if not all) of your visit to Estes Park and lots of beautiful snow : ) Always cheerful you were, thank you!! And thank you for choosing our home in the first place and for taking the time to tell others about it! We hope that you head back to AspenHaus Lodge real soon! Thanks again and best to you!! Outstanding experience in the mountains!!!

  • 5 of 5

I've done more than a few executive retreats through the years and have learned the hard way that the accommodations play a significant role in the success of the retreat. Without a doubt the three day retreat/working session I hosted at the Lodge this past week was the best experience I've had. My colleagues and I especially appreciated the attention to detail in this home. Plenty of room, great meeting/dining space, very clean, quiet - and you just can't beat the mountain setting. Elk grazing off the front deck - seriously!!! If you are thinking about getting away to the mountains for a bit of relaxation with the family (or perhaps a bit of quiet time to get some work done) you owe it to yourself to consider the AspenHaus Lodge. This was our first stay at the Lodge...but certainly not our last.

Beautiful home for our Annual New Year Girls' Getaway

  • 4 of 5

Our group of 8 women has made a yearly New Years' tradition of spending the weekend together, and this home was perfect! As we are spread across a few states, we cherished every minute of time spent together laughing, cooking, relaxing by the fireplace or in the hot tub, and even our own 'alone time', spent however we liked. As much as there is to do around this house (hiking, etc.) and in the area of Estes Park, we were quite content with sticking close to "home", enjoying being together and watching the deer outside the window. The weather was not so cooperative during our stay, but we didn't mind. We've stayed at many different VRBO homes in Colorado, all high-quality, and this one was no exception! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Thank you! :)

Owner's Response: Oh no...our multi-year streak of 5 star reviews is temporarily interupted.... : ) Mark and Sue, Owners UPDATE: Follow-up on the 4 star rating revealed the following reasons for it: 1) no olive oil- Sorry, we don't supply food items like olive oil although we do supply some spices! 2) not enough dish towels- We supply three large dish towels, two medium counter towels, two small ones and a new sponge for every stay; and 3) no sugar for the coffee- We do supply sugar packets for coffee!!! In addition, we supply equal and creamer...all located in a cabinet with the coffee cups which is located above the 2 coffee makers (we also supply coffee from a local coffee shop in support of their own small business).

a MUST on your Bucket List! - I would recommend to everyone

  • 5 of 5

Sue and Mark are the epitome of warm, friendly, easy-to-work-with, accommodating hosts. I was particularly pleased with the open lines of communication which left us with no unanswered questions upon arrival. Aspenhaus is just stunning (the website pics don't do it justice). My husband & I, our 2 adult sons/ daughters-in-law, and 3 grandchildren spent our Christmas there and there was room for everyone! The kids loved having their own room downstairs and the kitchen was spacious enough for all of us. Speaking of the kitchen, it was superbly stocked with just about everything a serious cook could want. Everything we needed was provided except for clothes, personal items & food. The views are stunning and it snowed while there which made it even more amazing ( I swear Sue must've ordered it in just for us). We sat in the hot tub at night while snowflakes gently fell. AWESOME! The beds were super comfy and everyone slept soundly & peacefully. The stockings were hung and the kids came tumbling up the stairs on Christmas morning to the amazement of a fireplace, cookies eaten by Santa and a real tree full of presents. The house did not feel like a rental it felt like a HOME, OUR HOME, if only for the week. Just Perfect, you must add this to your family Bucket List. Also while there the family took a Sleigh ride @ Aspen Lodge and went tubing in Rocky Mtn National Park. Sue I can never thank you enough for sharing your home and allowing us to make such beautiful memories there.

Family Dream Vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Not sure where to start...Sue was the perfect hostess from beginning to end. It started with regular emails prior to our arrival with updates on events in the area, driving conditions, websites to local eateries and recommendations, etc. We were so excited by the time it got here we couldn't stand it! She was fully accommodating for our new granddaughter with baby hiker backpack, highchair, and pack and play. Sooo much easier to pack:) Finally we arrived and OH MY!! Their home was just amazing! Even better then the photos!! (which I looked at almost every day lol) The views were breathtaking and spiritual. From every window. Kind Coffee was waiting by the coffee maker (a favorite spot in Estes)! The beds were perfect in every room. All slept very well. Loved the spa towels for the hot tub. They thought of everything. I am a big fan of a wood burning fireplace so didn't know if the gas would be as fun...BUT fooled me! Awesome gas logs. You will never know the difference. We had it going all day long! It was a beautiful backdrop to our Thanksgiving feast prepared by all 10 of us. (ok...the baby just watched) Kitchen was fully equipped and we were not missing a thing. Plenty of room for some very competitive card games! Oh...and charades. PERFECT vacation. PERFECT hosts! Thank you Mark and Sue! CANNOT. WAIT. TO. RETURN.
