Honolulu homes can by law only be rented for a minimum term of 30days regardless whether you actually stay the entire month. The Instant Rental Rate Quoting Feature of this portal is not designed to calculate properly the rental for homes such as the Palace located in a strictly residential area of Honolulu which must be rented most months for at least 9 nights of physical stay (14+ Nights are strongly preferred) because of the many expenses and costs of ownership and maintenance in top condition of a home such as the KokoKaiThaiPalace which simply cannot be covered by a rental for just one week per calendar month, but you are welcome to inquire anyway. Therefore in the Rates Section there are minimum rental periods usually of at least 9 nights and the nightly rate is only valid for rentals for at least 14 nights, and only because the owner has newly redesigned the rental rates information to only quote the nightly and the monthly rental rate this portal now quotes the correct price but only if you are sure to enter at least the minimum number of nights specified as your desired stay. This magnificent villa built by Zen Buddhists in the style of a Palace in Thailand, with many exotic hard woods and marble imported from Thailand, features altogether 5 bedrooms and 4 baths and 2 half-baths, with additional sleeping quarters furnished with comfortable Italian designer convertible sofa-beds to sleep a total of 20 adult guests. The Separate-Entry Housekeepers/Storage Room located next to the Carport is not subject of this rental agreement. This luxury home was recently extensively upgraded. The swimming pool and jacuzzi have been upgraded so there is no chlorine added, the pool stays squeeky clean because it is a so-called 'Salt-Water Pool' which means that there is some sea salt added but it's only about 1/10 as salty as the ocean, and through ozonation the pool is cleaned by oxygen and a UV-Light and sand-filtration, so that between the healthy water in the pool and the fantastic absolutely private views from the pool and jacuzzi you are going to have the experience of your life-time! No swimming suit required! State-of-the-art 'Blazing Tubes' Solar Water-Heating Panels make sure that the outdoor jacuzzi is heated ecologically, with any excess hot water so generously generated by the warm Hawaiian sun 'spilled' over into the swimming pool to make it warmer as well, all without any guilt about wasting the earth's non-renewable resources! Because this house is located in the prestigious KokoKai Triangle/Portlock residential beach-side area of Honolulu where by law same as in other residential areas of the city of Honolulu the houses can only be rented just once in any 30-day period and due to the economics of ownership and maintenance in top condition of such a magnificent house such as the Palace it simply is not economically feasible to rent the house for less than approx. 14 nights except perhaps under special circumstances such as a last minute cancellation. The owner thus naturally must prefer longer term rentals and therefore the price per additional nights is dramatically lower if you stay longer than the usual min. 14 nights. Aloha, in January 2011 I purchased the home of my dreams in the exclusive Triangle/Portlock residential area of Honolulu in Hawaii Kai, and I invested not only lifetime savings but had to sell the villa in my native city of Prague that was in our family for 80 years in order to be able to buy it, and still ended up with a small mortgage to pay for the next 30 years! If it were not for the mortgage I would be living in my dream home right now, and I would not be renting it. I enjoy making the house even a little bit better every chance I get and knowing that vacation renters and their families enjoy spending their reunions and special celebrations at my house. In 2013, I widened the driveway, extensively remodeled a separate-entrance storage room adjacent to the carport by adding a bathroom and transformed it into a completely self-sufficient caretakers/storage room for myself, and installed a solar photovoltaic system to make the house even more ecological than before. I still have a BioMarket.cz business in Prague in my native Czech Republic, where I returned from Los Angeles following the Velvet Revolution of 1989. I will have to rent my beautiful home at least most of the year to cover the expenses of the house, but now I rent the palace myself and do not pay any commissions to any rental agency!The house was 'perfect' when I bought it and all my efforts since then have been to make it an even better place to live for me and my family, which should make it even more attractive and comfortable for you to stay in when you rent it. I purchased this particular home because from the first moment that I saw it and especially once I was inside and saw the spectacular unobstructed views of the coastline and all the beautiful massive wood and marble and huge picture windows construction with plentiful louvered and screend windows for natural flow-through ventilation and the elevator to connect the three levels of the main house as well as the georgeous separate entrance Studio Guest Cottage I just knew that I had to buy it ... and I did! The home was not cheap, but just a couple of years before I purchased it, it was listed for sale for more than double the price that I had purchased it for, and the owners who built this magnificent home with so much love and caring and with no expense spared had invested so much money into making it the beautiful palace that it is that just about all the money that I paid them went just to pay off their mortgage, so I have no doubt that it was a 'bargain', and I am very proud to be the owner. I had resolved after seeing dozens of other beautifull homes mostly scattered over the nearby hilltops that I wanted to live in the Triangle area because of the proximity to the world-famous Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve in order to be close to the beautiful sheltered beach and live coral and incredibly tame fish and large green turtles with which I so much enjoy snorkeling and hope to be also scuba-diving in the future, which is only a short walking distance from the villa, as are several excellent public schools, shopping centers and many other attractions. I had toyed with the idea of buying a home in the 'marina' area which would have had a slip and the possibility of having a boat with which I could have had easy access to the sea, but because of the low bridge under which all boats have to go it is not possible to have a sailboat and in the wake of the recent tsunami disasters in Thailand and Japan I wanted to be 50+ m high above any tsunami dangers which my house is.

I love the fact that the home is ideally located high up the side of the extinct crater way above all the surrounding homes offering spectacular unobstructed views of the coastline, and enjoying natural easy breazes from the ocean which flow through the many louvered and screened windows to offer perfectly comfortable fresh air at all times without any need for airconditioning or heating year-round, at one with nature, just as the builders, who are Zen-Buddhists (Swiss professor and his Thai wife) had intended to be, a perfect place for contemplation, meditation, relaxation and regaining new energy. I hope that you will enjoy staying in my home as much as I do. It is called the KokoKaiThaiPalace (com) because it is on the seeward ('Kai') side of the extinct Koko Crater, and it was built like a Thai Palace, and the street that it is on, Kekaha Place, well isn`t it a coincidence that 'Kekaha' in Hawaiian means 'The Place' ! This is my place in paradise! I looked up the word Kekaha on Google and the story goes that some locals were driving or perhaps walking around the Island of Kauai and one of them suddenly exclaimed to the others 'KEKAHA !' - there it is - pointing out a bay where something exciting happened in his life, perhaps he caught a big fish, and since that time that bay is called Kekaha Bay, and in fact all the street names in this part of Hawaii Kai are named after various geographical features and tourist attractions on the island of Kauai, like Poipu Drive at the corner! The first available open term for you to rent the KokoKaiThaiPalace com (aka AlohaPalace com) is July 1, 2015, and I am looking for the best offer on rentals for 2 weeks, or in any case at least 10+ nights all within the same month. Beautiful, Exotic & Family Friendly Hawaiin Getaway

Beautiful pool and hot tub which the kids enjoyed for hours every day after the adults were worn out from exploring the island. Big enough for 8-9 people to feel too crowded, convenient to anywhere you wanted to go. And Milan is an excellent and extremely considerate and accommodating host. I'm sorry I did not post a review earlier, just thought of it while looking on VRBO for this summer's adventure stay!

Amazing

Aloha ...My Fiance and I as well as 10 family member just stayed in Milan's beautiful Palace from March 2, 2015- March 25, 2015...it is a beautiful home, if you could even consider it such as that. This amazing residence has just beautiful views, amazing accommodations, a peaceful Pool and Jacuzzi, and an amazing location only 15 -25 minutes away from downtown Honolulu. You will be amazed by the spaciousness of this mansion...and Milan the owner of the house is an amazing person to rent from, very considerate and very loving of his renters....he made our time in Oahu amazing.

Palace in paradise

We stayed in this house for almost two weeks in Feb, 2015 and we couldn't be happier. We were initially a bit hesitant in our housing search as the house has only recently been rented out and there weren't too many reviews, but our fears were completely unfounded.

It was our big family reunion. There were five families from the East Coast USA and Korea, a total of 16 people (10 adults, 6 kids). The house instantly impressed when we walked in to the amazing views available throughout many angles. The house is big enough that we didn't feel crammed with five separate families. It provides enough personal space, but at the same time, it has many good spots for gathering. A large dining/living room, kitchen, swimming pool, and the pavilion was perfect to create some memorable family moments.

The house is also located in a really nice residential area and is close to many touristic spots and stores and restaurants. We went to Costco (10min away) multiple times to feed the big group and enjoyed ice cream shops, bakeries, and restaurants nearby. Hanauma bay (best snorkeling spot in Oahu) is only a 5min drive away, which was super convenient since traffic can be quite bad. You can also easily go to Honolulu to go to Waikiki beach or Pearl Harbor (30-40min drive) without having to stay in a crowded hotel zone.

The owner Milan is extremely nice and friendly. He is very responsive and is readily available. He is constantly maintaining the house to keep it ready for visitors. Thanks Milan for a wonderful and memorable vacation stay at your house!

Fantastic year in Hawaii

My family and I spent nearly a year living in Hawaii Kai at Kokokai Palace. my wife and I have seven children and it was a challenge to find a home large enough to accommodate us. Kokokai Palace provided everything that we needed and more.

During our year we had nearly 30 visitors and we were able to accommodate all of them with ease! We thoroughly enjoyed the home during our stay. The views are dramatic. Having the pool and courtyard integrated into the home was very convenient and allowed us to enjoy the tropical setting to the maximum. The meditation gazebo available to us was also special. It was a great place to sit and watch the sunset over Diamondhead.

Now that we are back in Nebraska, suffering through frigid temperatures, we miss Kokokai Palace more than ever! We hope to visit Milan in Hawaii again. it is too bad that our responsibilities on the mainland keep us away.

Two Weeks in Paradise

I stayed at this beautiful home with nine family members for a wonderful holiday in paradise. The listing description was very accurate and the home was fantastic and the kitchen was fully equipped. The home, pool, hot tub and barbeque all very well maintained and we spent a lot of time by the pool or one of the many lanais watching the most stunning sunsets. I love to snorkel and Haunama bay was a few minutes away. The owner Milan was very gracious and informative with all our questions and even took me out snorkelling one morning! Milan stays on the property in a separate suite and it was very nice to have him close by. I have already recommended this home to a friend and would not hesitate to go back for another amazing experience.

The swimming pool and jacuzzi have been recently upgraded so that there is no chlorine used anymore, and the pool stays squeeky clean because it is a so-called 'Salt-Water Pool' which means that there is some salt added but it's only about 1/10 as salty as the ocean, and through ozonation the pool is cleaned by oxygen as well as by UV-light and sand-filtration, so that between the healthy water in the pool and the fantastic and absolutely private views from the pool and jacuzzi you are going to have the experience of your life-time! This Housekeepers/Owners` Storage Room has its own separate entrance directly from the driveway and has no interconnecting doors nor any windows to any other part of the house and is not part of the rental and is currently definitely not available to renters as the owner is living in Honolulu and using this room for himself. IMPORTANT INFORMATION to book beyond 18 months from now, it is possible even though it is not possible to purchase Property Damage Insurance more than 18 months in advance simply by purchasing the insurance closer to check-in date, no problem

  • This magnificent villa built in the style of a Palace in Thailand by Zen Buddhists, with many exotic hard woods and marble tile imported from Thailand, features 5 bedrooms and 4 baths and 2 half-baths, with several additional sleeping quarters including 'the mezzanine room' and the 'TV room' which are not entirely enclosed but can easily serve as bedrooms furnished with very high quality Italian comfortable convertible sofa-beds to sleep a total of 20 guests. Most of the photos shown on this website were taken just before the current owner purchased the home in January 2011 and has since then invested very extensively into further upgrading all the furnishings and equipment, with the addition of 6 latest-model LED Flat 3D TV's and 7 very comfortable and great-looking Italian foutons that are each almost queen-size beds, and in every bedroom and the kitchen, dining area and TV-room there is now a very high quality and quiet DC motor remote-controlled ceiling fan with light.
