This Charming Cottage is one of a kind. Italian style floor and a granite topped rod iron wine bar by the window. Warm and welcoming cedar on the walls and Italian Provincial Vintage Cabinetry. Artist touches everywhere from the hand painted sink in the bathroom with peace doves to the thick stone granite seat in the shower. Whether you are a couple or single you will enjoy that it has it's own desert landscaped yard with big mesquite trees. Nice big outdoor living space with lots of blue sky. Stainless steel barbeque with outside tables to enjoy the beautiful Scottsdale Weather. Fire Pit with benches that surround it and twigs to burn.
Off the beaten path in a residential neighborhood of Estate Properties.
Completely detached with it's own driveway and entrance gate.
It's a safe neighborhood,. Something you would see on Martha's Vineyard I have been told. Relax and enjoy and shop and golf. It's turn key and all you need is your suitcase for a couple or single to be completely comfortable.
It comes with Two Cruiser Bikes
If you are the type of person who loves charm and ambience this is for you. If you are looking for a huge house this is not it.I would describe it as a honeymoon type cottage. It has a quiet garden in the back of the house. The garden has hippy charm with a couple of rod iron bar stools and a glass topped bar table facing the succulent garden. I built the garden because of the song by Ricky Nelson years ago. The song goes like this:
"Went to a garden party they all knew my name they didn't recognize me I didn't look the same well it's alright now I learned my lesson well.... you see you can't please everyone so you've got to please yourself." Lalala.
I planted a garden. I think it is wonderful. I hope you like it too. If you see the twig pile for the firepit and the cut logs stacked up and ready do not mistake them for debri. I put these things there for your use. Enjoy.
This cottage is :
Close to Kierland Commons and Gainey and McCormick Ranch. Prime location for Jackson Barrett Car Show, Arabian Horse Show, TPC. Waste Management Tournament players club. Golf courses galore and the best shopping. Baseball too.
Best of all it's not connected to anything below or above. It's quiet.
Photo of my son and I by the pool. I am a cheerful lady. I was born in Nebraska and raised in Iowa . I studied elementary education at Wartburg College in Waverly Iowa. I lived a short time in Chicago before going to Italy where my appreciation for art and design began. I realized after spending time in Italy and studying with European artists that I loved art and design more. I am a Designer/Artist.
It is perfectly situated near all the major arteries that connect Phoenix and Scottsdale. 2 blocks from shopping and restaurants and golf. The property is resort like with it's huge size. Affluent neighborhood for safety and beauty. It does have a rather rural quality and is often compared to a country France Property.
The European Cottage has a warm and welcoming ambience. The view from the table by the window is peaceful as it looks out to the massive desert landscaped yard with huge Mesquite Trees. A quiet place of retreat after a long day of shopping or sports. The Cottage is completely furnished with dishes and towels and linens so all you will need is your suitcase. Very near restaurants and grocery stores and near the 51 and the 101 that are major arteries that take you anywhere in the city fast.
On property parking for your car.Great upscale Neighborhood .
The main house is spacious, neat, clean, inviting, in a quiet and secluded part of Scottsdale with plenty of parking and rooms to rent. The main pool was great to use as I stayed in one of the three private cottages. My cottage was well kept and like new with seclusion from the main house. The amenities provided in this unit of some 700 square feet were complete with kitchen area, bath, washer and dryer, hot tub, barbecue, and sleeping quarters, each with their own accent (in this cottage, Mediterranean). The Cinderella Cottage nearer the pool is very cleverly finished and unique. The third cottage is larger and accentuated well to the last detail. Overall my stay of 60 days was very pleasant and peaceful and certainly more than I envisioned. The owner was unique, interesting. and helpful.
We stayed for the holidays and the place was very charming. Our favorite part was the outdoor fire pit. Arizona is so warm in the winter so we loved sitting out there in the evenings. The location is also ideal. It's in the heart of Scottsdale near great shopping, bars and restaurants. Everything was so pleasant and hassle free. Highly recommended.
Had we not paid in advance, we would have taken one look and gone to a hotel. The interior of the cottage, pictured in the ad with the wizardry of the wide-angle lens, is dark, cramped, and uncomfortably furnished with pieces that seem to have come from thrift shops. True, one can sit outside at a table under an umbrella, but the broad bare space that separates the cottage from the main house offers a series of insults to the eye: various castoffs, identifiable and otherwise, line a long wall extending from a non-functional hot-tub with chairs in it and wilting mattresses propped against it, to the theoretical car-port. Apart from the drabness, it was galling to have paid quite a lot for several features in the VRBO description that were not functional. The details:
Washer and dryer in the cottage? Yes, but they're not working. In fact, the innards have been removed from the dryer and a black towel thrown over both machines. Refrigerator in the room? Yes, but it wasn't working and had to be fixed the day after we arrived. Supplies? Yes, if you're willing to use a shriveled soap bar left by the previous occupants. The owner subsequently gave us two new bars of soap. A one bedroom cottage? Well, yes, there's a bed, but it's a studio cottage. In our parlance a one bedroom cottage would have a separate bedroom. The description of this cottage as "open concept" we took to mean that the bedroom would be in an alcove without a door, not that the bed would be in the only room, two feet away from the couch. There is a loveseat which is useful for storing objects since the upward poking springs do not invite sitting. There is a ceiling fan-light, but it is purely decorative since there is no switch or pull cord. Without this overhead light, it is too dim to read in the evenings. 800 square feet? Maybe, if you count the porch. A car port? Yes, fully occupied by a dead car half-buried among household wreckage and other refuse. The car port is covered by tarps, presenting an unsightly view as you drive up the driveway. Air conditioning? There is a machine that appears to be an air conditioner, but with no way of turning it on. A dining area? There is a small kitchen counter top with two stools. The furnishings are shabby. Since the room is small and dim, a screen door would have been welcome.
The location is good, the neighborhood is tranquil, the owner is helpful in various ways, but an egregious rent is charged for a depressing place.
Located half way between Kierland Commons and Old Town Scottsdale. Near Gainey and McCormick Ranch. Just off Scottsdale Road and Shea Blvd between the 101 and the 51.
Minutes from West World, Tournament Players Club (TPC) Waste Management Golf, Barrett Jackson Car show, Arabian Horse Show.
