Pictures tell it all! The main room faces Magens bay. The house is located in a gated community. It's very quiet, very private. All the rooms are large. The living room is 800 square feet. It is open, airy and not cluttered with a lot of furniture. It is 46 feet wide, has an 11 foot ceiling and 9 foot windows. You don't have to sit outside to enjoy the view including the sun setting which occurs right in front of the house over the bay . The kitchen is huge and has everything you could possibly need. We spend most of our time cooking on the barbeque. The veranda is 8 feet by 30 feet with a table that seats 4 and all the chairs face the view of the bay. The shower is very big. The top is only covered by mosquito screens so you can take a shower & see the stars at the same time. The property is not perfectly manicured so it doesn't look like a hotel. It's a little overgrown so you really feel like your in the tropics. It feels like home.
There is a second bedroom with 2 twin beds that can be joined to make one queen size bed (not pictured).
We have a resident chicken, 3 iguanas, parakeets, humming birds and an infinite number of birds. Simply put, 'This place is nice!'
This was our first time renting a home for a vacation. We were pleasantly surprised at the ease of working with this owner and found the house to be as beautiful, if not more, than the pictures. The location was perfect for our visit. We were able to relax at the house and local beach as well as explore the island, hang out with locals, enjoy great food, and local beaches. The views from the house were breath-taking. Watching the yachts come in and out of the bay were spectacular. We look forward to making a return trip.
GREAT place to stay in St. Thomas 20+ min from the airport. One of the most desirable areas to live on the island which translates to more remote and away from the tourists so you need a vehicle and adventursome spirit as the area is mountainous. We LOVED it as have done multiple Carribean vacations and are acquainted with the idiosyncracies of the islands. Outstanding sunset view, very well maintained and equipped home. Perfect for healthy, adventurous and athletic. Not recommend for handicapped, disabled. There is no easy acecess to 'walk to the beach' as you are on a mountain looking over a fantastic bay. Local Magen's beach is a mile away, costs $14 for 3 adults and a vehicle per day and well worth it. Will go back.
This was the first time my fiance' and I stayed at a villa. We usually do the resort thing with the exception of last year when we chartered a yacht out of Tortola which I also highly recommend. Our stay at Battman's villa was more than we could have imagined. It is everything represented here and more. The pictures do not convey how exquisitely beautiful the furnishings and art are right down to the tiniest detail. Battman is a caring host and makes you feel like you are friends borrowing his villa for a week rather than strangers renting from him. We felt like we moved to St. Thomas and became locals. We drove to the store, the restaurants, Magen's bay. We hunted for new beaches. We got lost, found our way, made wrong turns, made right turns, but always found our way and it was a blast. Our favorite moment was when we hiked down to the little private beach. We went there every morning. We had it all to ourselves. One morning we hit the beach there was a guy on a paddle board passing right by the shore. At first we felt like, "bummer, guess we'll have to share the beach this morning." Mr. Paddle Board nodded hello and paddled by. "Hey, isn't that Bruce Springsteen?" We wanted to shout, "Hey BOSS, COME SHARE THE BEACH WITH US!" But we didn't. We watched him paddle off towards Magen's Bay. Really cool. Thanks Battman. Great vacation!
We couldn't have been happier with our stay at our beautiful homeaway at Magen's Bay. The house was so comfortable and well maintained. I enjoyed watching the parrots and hummingbirds every morning and the stunning view of the bay. We did some sight seeing around St Thomas and St John but spent the bulk of our time at the lovely beach that was in walking distance from the house. Most of the time we either had the beach to ourselves or shared it with a few people. It was a wonderful quiet neighborhood with Udder Delight and Simply Italian in close proximity. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing restful vacation. Thank you Battman for sharing your amazing house with us it was a joy.
The House of Jasmine was everything we could have asked for and really felt like home. Everything was spot on from the pictures, previous reviews and rental logistics. Battman was very easy to deal with and ensured our vacation was a pleasant one. The house was clean and very well maintained. The view of Magen's Bay from the house is beautiful and not hard to wake up to every morning. We have already recommended this place to others and will certainly be back soon!
This place was everything we hoped it would be and more. It is a beautiful home on the nicest part of the island. The location is great, the walk down to Little Magens Bay is quick and the beach is beautiful and only a few people there each time we went. The main beach for Magens is less then 5 mins away. Don't pass up the Udderly Delight which is right down the road. The stay in the house was awesome, the owner Battman was great to deal with and someone we would love to meet someday. We loved the resident chicken it would stop by for breakfast every morning for about 30 mins and then we didnt see it till the next day till the same time. There is lots of small lizards and about 3-4 good size iguanas hanging out in the tree tops. We spent most of our time enjoying the fantastic view on the deck. Matter of fact I don't believe we ate a single meal at the dinner table! Dont pass this house up its a great stay.
