A Little History: John Wayne was in Ouray with Glen Campbell and Kim Darby when 'True Grit' was filmed in the late 1960s. They all walked up the stairs and down the hall of the Storyblock Building to the movie production office. You can follow their steps or park your car in the garage and use the modern convenience of the elevator installed in 2010 .

For history buffs, this condominium occupies the space formerly used as hay storage, a hotel, apartments and later a very popular variety show. This building is named for William Story who, before moving to Ouray and acquiring the Storyblock Building from Louis King, was an Arkansas Supreme Court Justice and a Lieutenant Governor of Colorado.
