We had people visiting from out of town and needed some extra space to put six people. This cute little house did just the trick. It's in a very beautiful, quiet and private location with easy walks to Coconut Grove. The outdoor sitting areas are so pretty and relaxing. Everything was easy and smooth with the rental and we had everything we needed.
We had a wonderful time in the great home. We actually were able to walk to the Village and sights around our location. We found the home to be clean and well taken care of. We had great wi if and cable tv service and all our needs were meet and more. I definitely recommend this vacation rental. We will return.
My friends and I had a wonderful vacation in this beautiful home in Coconut Grove. We walked to the bay at the end of the street and in to the Village of Coconut Grove. Wow talk about location-location-location. The neighborhood is eclectic and upscale. The home is totally private and opens out to decks. The property was pristine and the grounds were lovely. The decks and sitting areas were perfect for morning coffee,BBQ and sunbathing. The manager was informative and very helpful. We will definitely return to this vacation rental!
Our home for two months was this charming airy bungalow. However we were asked to delay our arrival for two weeks to get the rental ready for us. There had been a large family with cats and dogs residing there previous to our arrival . Much to our surprise the home was not ready. Decks were slippery with mold and mildew, BBQ was completely rusted, outdoor furniture was moldy, seating was mildewed and not useable. Interior was full of dust, animal hair, dirt, sticky furniture and dirty oven. Bathrooms and linens were clean and ready for us.
The realtor immediately sent her very helpful sister over to right things including over a dozen light bulbs However none of this should have been done after we arrived. It took 5 weeks to get the workman to finish the power washing and to complete the exterior work and repair the rotting boards. We hired our realtors housekeeper to come. She was fantastic and cleaned beautifully. However it should not have been necessary.
Neighborhood is charming. After decking was cleaned and stained grounds around bungalow looked lovely and private. Interior foliage was mature and lush.Street is perfectly situated for access to beaches, town and sights. University was merely seven minutes for my husband and there were plenty of great restaurants, grocery stores and shops nearby. We would have loved it , had it not been for the lack of preparedness of the home and grounds.
A wonderful roomy bungalow. Great for the vacationers with a snoring family member. We had everything we needed. Very close to the Kampong, Coconut Walk, and Coral Gables. Easily accessible to Miami by car. Would stay again.
My wife and I had been traveling around Florida for some time on an extended vacation before I had to start work at the University of Miami. We needed a location that would allow me a short commute. My wife was reluctant to leave our previous location because we were right on the beach.
I write the previous, to write this: living in this cottage felt like a vacation from our vacation. It's spacious, with beautiful tiling, and a gorgeous private patio. The night is completely quiet, yet 2/3rds of a mile away is a unique, vibrant town (Coconut Grove). The ocean is a block away - and although it isn't a beach (there is a beach about a 15 drive away) we certainly FELT like we were at the beach. We could walk our dog a block and watch the ships pass. My wife was happier here than overlooking the ocean from a patio at our previous location (Marco Polo).
Joan, the owner, is a very welcoming host. She made it clear that our happiness was very important to her, and she was very responsive when we had questions. I have dealt with a lot of vacation rental realtors and I am happy to report that she is genuine with high standards.
Out favorite days were spent having coffee on the patio, biking into town, reading in the afternoons, and having dinner near by (with our dog, BTW. Very animal friendly town). Whether your taste is a day of relaxing reading on the patio, mimosas at outdoor seating at breakfast, or 5-start dinners at a variety of eclectic restaurants, or all of the above, you will be very happy here.
P.S. I STRONGLY suggest you drive down "Main Highway" to "McFarlane" or vice versa if you go look at the property. The GPS took us a route that was very misleading about the surrounding area.
Coconut Grove's small village quality presents an ideal location for outdoor festivals and events. You may picnic on the grounds of the Barnacle Historic State Park, events throughout downtown Grove go on all year round. The Grove is known for its many and varied restaurants and open air cafes. One can also choose from among a number of ice cream, yogurt, smoothie and gelato shops.
Shopping is also abundant in the Grove, with two large open-air malls, CocoWalk, Streets of Mayfair, and many other street shops and boutiques.
Walk to the Bay at the end of the street and watch the sun gleam off the waves. This home is located in a very eclectic winding drive in the South Grove walking distance to the Village of Coconut Grove (less then one mile).
The yacht clubs and sailing clubs are 5 minutes away. The marina at Dinner key offers sail boats for lease as well as motor boats.
Golf: Google the Biltmore Golf course and Granada Golf Course for the closest courses. Just 15 minutes away you also have the Key Biscayne Golf Course.
