Climate:
Fijis climate is tropical. Between November and April (summer) temperatures are slightly higher than the winter months, as is the chance of tropical showers. Light cotton clothes are advisable at all times - only between May and October (winter) a light sweater may be needed for nights and the early mornings.
The weather in Fiji can vary considerably between island regions, due prevailing south- east trade winds which contain clouds over the mountains on the south-eastern sides of the larger islands.
Summer - December to April.
Summer begins early in December and lasts until April. During this time the weather is hot (32°C daytime) with bright sunny mornings and predictable late afternoon showers. This 'wet season' is the ideal time experience the lush vibrancy of the rainforest - rivers are full, waterfalls bursting and the hills become a vibrant green.
Winter - May to November.
By the end of April, Fiji experiences an idyllic moderate climate. Temperatures are comfortably warm by day (27C) and beautifully cool at night (19C) when a light sweater or would be necessary. Rainfall is never far away keeping the air clear and scenery green year round.
