A perfect getaway in Beaufort/Harkers Island area, on the mainland approx. 1/4 mile before the Harkers Island bridge. Beautiful view and indescribable sunsets over a salt marsh. Very private on seven acres. Private dock with protected, deep water harbor, cleaning station. Can accommodate up to 30 foot boats. Great for swimming, fishing, boating, shelling. Quick access to Cape Lookout Lighthouse. Fifteen minutes to Beaufort by boat or car.
My wife and I have stayed at this house 2 years in a row. We love Donna and love going to Harkers as often as we can. The place is ALWAYS well stocked with everything you need. Everything is very clean and tidy from the kitchen to the bathroom. We have always done well fishing and the dock location is perfect from the boat ramp. It is tucked away for great privacy and it is very quiet. We do recommend this place to anyone thinking of going to Harkers island.
I can't say enough about this place! Best vacation we have had hands down! If you want to relax & unwind this is your place! Thanks again for sharing your place with us we will be back next year and will be booking way in advance to ensure we get it lol
We were completely blown away by this property. We stayed here intending to visit the town of Beaufort but spent as much time at "home" as out touring, the property was just that great! The views and sunsets are of course magnificent, but there's so many little things to see as well. The tide changes the water depth significantly, allowing for various fishing birds to come and go. At night when the tide was in we could sit on the porch and actually hear the small fish jumping. There are thousands of fiddler crabs at the edge of the water, and some much bigger crabs by the dock. We also saw schools of fish and even a small bat ray in the water. On a whim we rented a kayak from Down East Kayaks (they deliver!) and explored the water by boat as well.
Of course we did eventually make it into Beaufort, the drive is pleasant and we thought it well worth the extra few minutes to be outside of town at this beautiful spot. The house is well cared for and nicely decorated with a fun tropical theme. The owner is also very responsive and helpful if you need anything. Highly recommend this property!
another great visit to our beloved "Salt Marsh"...this place is great for the fisherman with a boat and once again we enjoyed our stay!
Thanks Donna & Bill
My husband and I stayed @ the Saltmarsh home and fell in love with the view. It was tucked away from all the hectic tourist areas but still close enough to enjoy a night out. We were close enough to make day trips to Cedar Island, Altantic Beach, & Shackleford island. The best part of staying @ Saltmarsh was watching the wildlife and enjoying coffee on the front porch. A great place for a small family to spend quality time together enjoying nature. We will be back.
