Home of the 'Astonished Fish' (see photos). The first time you sink into a chair and take in the lake view you will understand. This is truly a unique property and you will be surprised at how much you relax even in the first 24 hours. Screen porch is newly done in Caribbean colors
Very peaceful setting with a good water view. Sit on the swim dock and watch the sunset. If you bring a boat you can launch about 10 minutes away and tie up to our swim dock. Enjoy the deep (25' deep in the middle of cove), clear water. A natural spring keeps our wide, deep cove flowing and clean. Large screened porch is a favorite place to eat or wake up with a cup of coffee while being mesmerized by the water. Abundant wildlife in the area including beaver and red fox and turkey, Heron and Canadian Geese.

Our Dock has ALWAYS had good boatable water at least 8 feet at the end of the dock even during the recent historic drought.
Mark Lotane purchased this house in 2006
Lake Hartwell has good, clean refreshing water. It is much quieter than some of the other major Georgia lakes.
We thoroughly enjoy the peace and solitude of the lake whether having meals and drinks on the dock, or taking a short boat ride out to one of the undeveloped islands. The water in our part of the lake is spring fed and always feels clean and fresh.
We had a wonderful weekend here at your place - brought the boat from the marina in Hartwell where we keep it. All of us want you to know how much we enjoyed it! This was the Best Mothers Day I can remember!
I love your house because it is unique and has so much personality- very comfortable.
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving getaway with our teenagers.
The kitchen was fully stocked to make an amazing Thanksgiving feast. We loved
the wood burning fireplace and played games by it.
The beds were very comfy as well.
Friday we drove to Greenville and shopped and ate an amazing lunch at Smoke on the Water.
Highly recommend this restaurant.
Mark, thanks for sharing your slice of heaven right on the lake with us. Maggie and Boogie (our pugs) had a ball too!!!
Such a cozy, beautiful home, right on the water!
This was our second stay at the lake house, and we had a terrific time. The property is fun to explore tucked back on a quiet little street where we road our bikes. The cove is very deep and provides hours of play; we literally lived at the dock when it wasn't raining. The owner is kind and generous, and he always makes sure everything is just right. We really do love it here and it has become a special part of our memories. The house is comfortable and filled with everything you would need for a fun time as well. We stock the pantry with food and just spend our days relaxing at the house, but there are also many great places to visit nearby if you want to explore. Really can't say enough good things.
My husband and small daughter had an amazing two-week stay at this lovely lake cottage. It's truly a treasure in the midst of a quiet farming and lake community, and we hope to return in the future. It is also situated among some truly wonderful up-state Georgia and South Carolina cities that have quaint historic districts offering terrific dining and shopping experiences (we visited Greenville, Athens, Anderson, Pendleton, and Hartwell). The cabin is stocked with everything you'll need for a low-key stay on the lake. If rest it what you're searching for, you'll find it here. The cove is deep and secluded, and the large dock was our main place to play while here. During our two weeks at the end of July, we saw only two families with boats come into the cove, and that's only because they were returning from cruising the lake. We felt safe and quiet tucked back in this beautifully wooded setting. The bird life was exciting -- hawks, osprey, eagles, and geese. Although we didn't catch any fish, we did notice lots of big, beautiful trout. We also enjoyed just walking around the house and around the neighborhood. We collected over fifteen different species of wild flowers during our strolls. We brought our kayaks and had a wonderful time touring the lake. This is a well lived-in house complete with more than you will ever need, so pack light, buy a few beers or some wine, bring some great food to cook, and head to this cottage to create some great memories with your family and friends.
