We have lived on this beautiful island since 1974. Steve is a professional photographer and I am retired teacher. I now have more time to pamper my guests and volunteer. We are happy to share our two family house with you. All the photos were taken by Steve and truly reflect our little piece of paradise. We live upstairs, full time, so you can always knock on our door for directions and suggestions.
The apartment and location are ideal for quiet, non-smoking people, looking to slow down and enjoy the local community of Wintberg Estate. Since we are centrally located on Lemon Tree Road, everything is close by.

Our home is a smoke free environment. Smoking is not permitted in or outside on the two decks. Thank you for your understanding.
I am a retired elementary school teacher. Hosting travelers makes me feel like an ambassador of the slow down movement. I truly love seeing our guests detox from their busy lives. They truly leave here feeling restored!

We fell I love with this property because of the unobstructed view of Magens Bay and the rainforest.
Lemon Tree Guest House is centrally located. If you do not want to rent a car, you can easily walk to the end of the road and get a taxi to Magens Bay.
Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful house. We felt as if we were staying with friends and not just as guests. Everything here was just fantastic. It seemed that no detail was overlooked. Everything we could need for our stay on the island was here and ready to use. Monica and I are already planning our next trip to the island and hope to stay here once more.

I must say that our stay, albeit short... Was wonderful. Leslie was continually in contact with me. Even when I had some difficulties with my travel plans. She and her husband werewarm, thoughtful and inviting hosts. They went out of their way to ensure we had a nice stay. This place was fantastic with a lovely kitchen (evertyhing we needed), a very comfortable bedroom, a nice sized shower and a wonderful screened indoor/outdoor room. We loved having our breakfast outside on the patio. These people are A++. Very highly recommended. Lastly, it was very very clean. :)

Long story: We were looking for a reasonably priced place to stay and found this gem. Off the beaten path, this is a great spot for those that don't like to be trampled by other tourists at some large hotel chain. The apartment is cute and cozy, attached to the main house. You do have a private patio which is screened in and facing a gorgeous and lush backyard. At dusk, you can watch the sun set over the ocean and listen to the birds. The kitchen is very well stocked with everything you would need to cook at home. Basically, it's a place to live like a local, but with some major added amenities. Leslie and Steve (property owners) are tremendously knowledgeable and helped us to find our way around. Placing your trust in them is a good bet.
We had a strategy for getting around without a car and that was to have one taxi driver take us everywhere. It saved from having to give directions each time. I would say to either do that or rent a car. The location is pretty close to both Charlotte Amalie and Magen's Bay.
We have a one and a half year old and would like to return and stay here again soon -- I think the apartment is perfectly suitable for two people and one child.
This was a great place for us to stay. We enjoyed ourselves and the great neighborhood. Kitchen had all we needed and then some. Leslie was very helpful and great resource. Can't wait to come back and live permanently in this neighborhood! We were happy to meet our future neighbors and get to know the area.
I had SUCH a positive experience during my recent stay here! It was my first time on the islands and this place was the PERFECT place to stay. The owners are such genuinely kind people and were incredibly helpful with providing information on beautiful nearby beaches, fun local attractions, and where to find basically anything else we were looking for! We were also pleasantly surprised to find that many of the essentials that can easily be forgotten when packing (like clean beach towels!) were already provided in the apartment closets. It's location is truly unique in that its nestled among nature, but is still only a short drive from Magen's Bay, shopping centers, and other fun activities that the island has to offer. Overall, this place is truly a GEM in Paradise and I highly recommend it!
I'm not really a resort person, so I was thrilled to discover MVI on HomeAway. My friend and I rented a car so we'd be able to explore without relying on taxis and found it pretty easy to get around from here; we took ferries to Water Island and St. John, snorkeled in Sapphire Bay, and spent an afternoon lounging in Magen's Bay. The place was clean, comfortable and surrounded by beautiful nature -- coming from the snowy northeastern US, it was so lovely to be able to sleep with fresh air coming through the windows! We loved being able to cook when we wanted to and relax out on the screened in porch. Steve and Leslie were extremely helpful from booking all the way through the end of our trip. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in the USVI and will recommend it to anyone I know who's planning to travel there!
