Some visitors are manatees, tarpon, parrotfish, snappers, etc. A great place to dock your boat, 60 ft seawall, fish cleaning deck, outside shower and steps to get in and out of the canal when swimming or kayaking or just floating around with a snorkle and mask.
Canal opens to Newfound Harbor which can take you to the Gulf of Mexico or Atlantic Ocean. Envelope sliding glass doors open to a large enclosed and screened in deck overlooking the canal and offering great breezes thruout the home. The other side of the home has a great deck with BarBQue grill that overlooks Newfound Harbor and unparalleled sunsets over a small nature preserved pond.
Two bedrooms and couches and hammocks offer great resting spots in this very comfortable and airy home. There is air-conditioning and heat if the need arises. Laundry room included.
Big Pine Key: Big Pine Key is the home of the famous Key Deer and a nice sized shopping center with a supermarket, restaurants, shopping, etc. The Big Pine Key Flea market is a great spot for you to spend Saturday morning. Good bike trails will take you to most of the island.
Looe Key key is a short five mile boat ride away. Bahia Honda State Park with fabulous beaches is just over the bridge from the other side of Big Pine. You can take many excursions, kayak, paragliding, fishing, boating, etc. that are available from Big Pine.
Views: Whether you are sitting at the dining table, in your bedroom, in the kitchen or on the deck, the view of the nature preserve pond and Newfound Harbor are outstanding. Herons of many types, pelicans, egrets, osprey and cormorants are just a few of the birds that frequent the pond, not to mention the fabulous sunsets every night as a backdrop to the boats in the harbor. We have even seen a six point Key Deer buck quenching his thirst at the pond.
