Welcome to my house, a classic Portland guest home located in the central city. Built in 1904 and maintains all historic charm but with the amenities of a modern home. Perfect for visitors who want the convenience and close proximity to all Portland has to offer with the quaintness of one of Portland’s oldest historic neighborhoods.
Built on the old streetcar network, you will enjoy walking to four amazing commercial districts with no fewer than 10 others within a 10 min bike or car ride. Amazing food, sights, shopping and nightlife will be at your doorsteps.
The kitchen is large and classic with subway tile wainscoting, beautiful fixtures and a classic 1941 O’Keefe & Merritt stove reminds you that food is not just sustenance but something to be enjoyed. Completely stocked with all the items needed to prepare your meal de jour. Modern feature like a dishwasher and microwave also provided for real life demands.
There are two bathrooms. On the main floor, experience the life of the modern Turkish bath house. Toilet, sink and large double showers may have you singing for hours. Upstairs is a toilet, sink and a large claw foot tub where you can soak and reflect on the days adventures had or to come.
Formal dining room, living room and tv room will make you feel right at home.
There are 5 rooms. One is decorated with 1880’s furnishings with a full size bed with a view of the downtown skyline. The second has a 1900’s style sleigh bed décor with queen size bed. The third is also decorated in early 1900's decor and has a full size bed. The fourth is an amazing room with three walls of windows and a queen size bed with queen sized sleeper sofa. This room is the largest. The last room is a smaller room on the main floor with Midcentury modern decore and a full size bed.
Summers can be enjoyed on the full size front porch, enjoying the Mediterranean garden and people watching or in the backyard, Asian influenced garden. Bikes are also available for guests.
While this home has successfully hosted musicians, reunions, wedding parties and guys/girls weekends, it is located in a neighborhood. If your group is going to rage or you feel unable to control the behavior of people in your party, this is not the house for you. I have a 10PM quiet time agreement with my neighbors and it is strictly enforced. Violators will be asked to leave without refund.
