Our section of the 'Mas de Viales' is ideally located on a hillside, surrounded by vineyards, olive trees and orchards.Quiet & restful, but close to many historic and interesting sites and activities. Approximately 30 minutes from Avignon, Nimes and Pont-du-Gard and 1 hour from the Mediterranean. The house is beautifully renovated, bright and fresh with modern amenities. The 'Mas' has 2 bedrooms, each with ensuite baths. The lower bedroom has a double bed and fully tiled shower. Upper bedroom has queen bed with ensuite bath/tub. Both bedrooms with ceiling fans. It has a bright,high-beamed living area and efficiently designed, well equipped kitchen, open to salon and eating area. The private, intimate, stone walled courtyard has beautiful gardens, colourful planters, palm trees, patio table and chairs, an outdoor tiled shower and nearby washroom. Two shaded terraces, overlooking the scenic valley have separate tables and chairs,perfect for outdoor living.

Larger Commercial centres at Les Anges and Pontet. Located in the heart of the Cotes de Rhone wine area,with wine tastings available at Chateauneuf-du-Pape,Tavel,Lirac,Laudun. The friendly village of Cavillargues is a 10 minute walk to the boulangerie,epicerie,butcher,pharmacy,hairdresser,tennis court,post office,wine co-operative,and doctor.

Notes: Our property is rural with lots of wonderful walking/hiking available but not too many activities for young children. Kitchen has many additional cooking utensils and small appliances(fondue,raclette,food processor,hand mixer,blender,pasta pot.).Ideal for the preparation of Mediterranean cuisine.A variety of herbs and spices are available.A variety of outdoor eating areas-porch,walled courtyard,front terrasse. Attractively surrounded by vineyards,palm trees,gardens, and overlooking vines and orchards in the valley. The ruins of a Roman temple and a medieval village are on the opposite side of the valley. An excellent restaurant is a 5 minute walk from the Mas in the direction of the village. Nearest village is Cavillargues (1 km) and the closest town is Bagnols-sur-Ceze (about 10 km).

We recently booked a very last minute stay at this property. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

It was lovely! A gorgeous area and excellent little house with bags of character. We were spoilt for choice for nice places to sit and drink the local (superb!) wine and the shade from near by trees was very welcome. There were pleasant walks near by and as the details describe - very convenient amenities. The local restaurant is fab! Try the flambé banana with chocolate sauce!

We spent a full week driving to various interesting places – as suggested mostly not that child friendly (which suited us). Really ace things to see in this area.

The house was also perfectly equipped and we didn’t lack any piece of equipment during our stay. Also, the local gentleman who serviced the property for the owners was very kind and friendly and the cleanliness was good – nice clean cotton sheets and towel etc.

The only tiny criticism might be only that the floors needed mopping. They had been swept thoroughly but made your feet black with dirt in minutes if you walked in bare feet at all. There was about an inch of dirt/fluff under the bed too. However, after a few glasses of the Chateauneuf du Pape who cares!!?
