Perfectly situated apartment in a nice neighbourhood

We just got home from a stay at Ana and David's apartment on Floridablanca, and had a great time there. The apartment was perfect for our needs - we were a group of three adults and two teenagers and had plenty of space. The bedrooms are not very big, but they are all you need for a city stay. The front room is quite noisy, but didn't really stop us sleeping, as we were exhausted from sightseeing! The dining room has a good size table where we chilled out in the evenings, but we did spend most of our time out in the city. The area is a residential one, which we preferred, but there are lots of cafe's, restaurants and bars in the surrounding streets, as well as patisseries and bakeries where you can pick up some delicious things for breakfast! We especially loved CafeParis at the end of the block. There are also plenty of little supermarkets a few steps away, for picking up provisions.
Although we weren't in the Old City Centre we found that we could get to any part of the city really quickly. We took the bus from outside the apartment door a few times, and the Metro stops are nearby. We bought a T10 ticket for each of us and that was enough journeys to take us all over the city. We also found that we could walk to many places, including Passeig de Gracia, Las Ramblas and Placa Espanya for the Magic Fountain. David and Ana have copies of maps and bus routes in the apartment that you can take out with you, and we found these really useful. David was really flexible about coming to return our deposit on the evening before we left, and Ana arranged for taxis for us to get to the airport, which was a relief as it was an early flight, on Easter Sunday, with a change in the clocks that same night! All worked out perfectly, and I recommend the apartment to anyone with a few days to spend in this lovely city!
