Wonderful Family Home

My partner and I and our friends stayed at the Main Residence at
Labrador Landing in July 2011 and fell completely in love with the
property. Personally I love the location because it's in the heart of
the far West End residential district which is full of prestigious
waterfront homes, and it's a short walk into town, close to the beach,
and I love to walk to Relish for my morning coffee and breakfast
goodies where I always run into other friends from all over. It's
also a short walk to the Red Inn for early evening cocktails or
dinner. I can't think of any other place I'd like to be in the summer
than there, and I've traveled all over the world.
There were eight of us in our group, including our girlfriend and her
baby, and the home made us feel like one big family. There's a large
brick terrace that overlooks the West End waterfront, great view but
also set back for privacy which was nice. There are stairs that you
walk down right into the water at high tide, and onto the beach at low
tide. This was great because we could go kayaking and swimming right
from the deck at high tide, and at low tide we ran our dogs and played
with the baby on the beach for hours.
Inside the home the first thing that struck me was all the trim
carpentry and wainscoting and intricate woodwork on the ceilings.
It's a historic home, but you can see the quality of the woodwork was
redone to period standards for the era of the house, I'm guessing late
19th century. There's lots of antiques and nice rugs, but the home is
comforting at the same time.
I love to cook, especially on vacation, and the chef's kitchen with
vaulted ceiling and 48" Viking stove was perfect for making the large
family style meals we created.
There's not a picture of this on the listing but there's large dining
room off the kitchen where we all sat for evening dinner parties, with
lighted cabinetry, a serving buffet area, and gorgeous wood work
everywhere.
My partner and I stayed in the Master Bedroom suite on the third
floor, and it had great views of Provincetown Harbor. The sunrises
over the water were amazing. The whole house had central air
conditioning, but we sometimes liked to open the windows to hear the
waves and the seagulls. Also the Master Bath on the third floor is
all white marble and there's a giant shower for two with Waterworks
fixtures. It was quite luxurious.
